Data Analyst (payments)

Role Objective
Identify and implement opportunities to optimize payment system costs, improve routing quality, and increase transparency across the entire flow from deposits to withdrawals.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze the full payment flow (from deposit to withdrawal) to identify bottlenecks, delays, and losses.
• Assess the efficiency and cost of different Payment Service Providers (PSPs).
• Detect anomalies in payment system performance (e.g., spikes in declines, increased fees).
• Collaborate with Finance and Product teams to propose improvements in payment routing schemes.
• Build and automate dashboards for monitoring and decision-making.
• Maintain communication with the team responsible for onboarding or offboarding PSPs.
• Work with payment traffic routing.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience as an Analyst in fintech, e-commerce.
• Deep understanding of payment process architecture (deposits, withdrawals, holds, chargebacks).
• Proficiency in SQL (ClickHouse, Postgres and/or others).
• Hands-on experience with Python (pandas, numpy, etc.).
• Experience with BI tools (e.g., Metabase, Power BI).
• Strong skills in building analytics for payment system metrics (conversion rate, decline reasons, fees, etc.).
• Knowledge of A/B testing and statistical result evaluation is a plus.
