MS Fabric / Informatica Architect with relocation to Abu Dhabi, UAE for 8 months

Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE (on-site during the initial project phase)
Engagement: 18-month program
Start date: January 2026

About the project

The Abu Dhabi Ministry of Transport has recently expanded through the integration of several government departments. This rapid growth has resulted in siloed operations and fragmented data systems.

The ministry is now launching an 18-month transformation program to establish a comprehensive data strategy, streamline data across multiple applications, and build a modern, unified data ecosystem. The program’s core mission is to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization through robust integration, governance, and analytics capabilities.

About the role

As an MS Fabric / Informatica Architect, you will design and oversee the data integration and management architecture that supports the ministry’s enterprise data strategy. Your work will focus on enabling seamless data flows between disparate systems, ensuring data quality, and implementing scalable solutions using Microsoft Fabric and Informatica technologies.

You’ll collaborate closely with the Data Governance and Enterprise Architecture teams to align data integration architecture with governance policies, metadata standards, and the overall strategic vision of the ministry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement data integration architectures using Microsoft Fabric and Informatica for large-scale, multi-source environments.
  • Define and establish ETL/ELT pipelines, data ingestion, and transformation frameworks for structured and unstructured data.
  • Develop data models, lineage tracking, and metadata frameworks aligned with the organization’s governance strategy.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to rationalize and consolidate data sources across multiple legacy systems.
  • Optimize data pipelines for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Support the implementation of data quality controls, ensuring accuracy and consistency across systems.
  • Lead the migration and integration of data from siloed departmental platforms into a centralized ecosystem.
  • Provide technical guidance on data architecture best practices, integration patterns, and tool selection.
  • Work closely with the Data Governance Lead to ensure alignment between integration architecture and governance frameworks.
  • Document architectural decisions, standards, and operational procedures.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data architecture, data integration, or data engineering roles.
  • Strong expertise with Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Synapse, OneLake, Power BI integration) and Informatica (PowerCenter, IDMC, MDM, Data Quality).
  • Proven experience designing and deploying enterprise-scale ETL/ELT solutions.
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data modeling, and metadata management.
  • Experience integrating cloud and on-premise systems (Azure, hybrid environments).
  • Familiarity with data security, privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to simplify complex systems.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.
  • Willingness to work on-site in Abu Dhabi for the first 1–2 months before transitioning to remote work.

Why join this project

You’ll be part of a high-impact national transformation initiative, helping to shape how data is managed and used across Abu Dhabi’s public sector. This is an opportunity to architect data solutions at scale, working with modern platforms and contributing directly to the creation of a unified, data-driven government.
