Full-Time Senior Java Developer (Remote, Healthcare Project)

We’re looking for a Senior Java Engineer to join our team for a new healthcare platform focused on interoperability, data standardisation, and FHIR-based integrations.

You’ll be responsible for building healthcare backend services, process medical data securely, and expose standardised APIs following the FHIR specification (using HAPI FHIR).
 

This is a long-term role with opportunities for growth within a team of experienced engineers working on modern AWS-based infrastructure.

Tech Stack

• Java 21+
• Spring Boot 3.x
• HAPI FHIR / FHIR R4
• PostgreSQL
• Docker, Docker Compose
• AWS (ECS, S3, RDS, Cognito, Lambda)
• RESTful APIs, JSON, OAuth2

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement REST APIs for healthcare data exchange (FHIR-based)
• Build and maintain secure, scalable backend services
• Deploy and monitor services in AWS 
• Collaborate with front-end engineers and BA 
• Contribute to documentation and CI/CD improvements

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of experience with Java and Spring Boot
• Hands-on experience with HAPI FHIR or similar frameworks
• Understanding of FHIR standards and healthcare data models
• Experience with AWS services and Docker
• Strong SQL and database design skills
• Good communication skills and team collaboration
• English and Ukrainian proficiency

• Availability: Full-time (40 hours/week)
• Remote: Yes
• Timezone: Flexible (EU overlap preferred)
• Must pass a technical interview
