Unity3D C# developer for desktop game MVP

We’re building a desktop MVP to validate core fun, pacing, and early balance of a turn-based PVP game with RPG elements - to understand if the concept is playable. The goal is to create a solid prototype we can later grow into a full game.

We’re looking for a senior/lead who can produce the MVP end-to-end alongside a game designer: build the prototype solo using pragmatic tech choices, prove the core loop in real playtests, and then - if the concept validates - grow it into a full online title. In that second phase you’ll lead development, define the architecture and coding standards, set up pipelines/CI, make netcode and performance decisions, and hire and mentor a team of industry best professionals (client, backend, UI/UX, 3D, QA).

Required experience:

  • 5+ years with Unity (C#) and multiple shipped prototypes/games as primary developer
  • Strong grasp of turn-based systems, state machines, and deterministic/authoritative thinking
  • Practical experience with multiplayer in Unity: Netcode for GameObjects (NGO), Mirror, Fish-Networking, or Photon Fusion/PUN; ability to stand up a headless dedicated server
  • Proven use of ScriptableObjects for data, clean project structure, and maintainable code
  • Comfortable integrating free Asset Store packs for placeholders and building minimal but clear VFX/UI
  • Git workflow, code reviews, and disciplined documentation.
  • English B2 at least (preferably C1+)

Additional technical stuff:

  • Addressables, URP, VFX Graph, new Input System
  • Replay/event-sourcing patterns, bot simulations for balance, or simple AI agents
  • CI/CD (GitHub Actions) and crash/telemetry backends (Unity Services, PlayFab, etc.)
  • Experience profiling and optimizing CPU/GPU/GC in Unity
  • Unity LTS 2022/2023, C#, URP, Addressables, new Input System
  • Networking: one of NGO / Mirror / Fish / Photon with authoritative server preferred
  • Headless server builds on Windows/Linux; simple matchmaking/lobby acceptable for MVP
  • Data-driven configs for abilities/cells/effects to enable rapid iteration and future AI simulations

Working cadence:

  • Full-time remote with regular video calls
  • Weekly progress updates, short demo videos, and playable builds
  • Close collaboration with the game designer; openness to feedback and quick iteration

You must have a passion towards video games and a desire to create something awesome (we do).
