Scrum Master (Middle)
We are looking for a mid-level Scrum Master to support three cross-functional product teams that build and operate our web and mobile applications in a mostly remote setup. You will be a servant leader and coach, helping teams and stakeholders use Scrum effectively while keeping collaboration fast, lightweight, and outcome-focused.
About the team and setup:
- Three cross-functional Scrum teams (backend, web frontend, mobile, QA, design).
- Mostly remote work with core collaboration hours.
- Startup environment: small company, fast decisions, evolving processes, high ownership.
You will work closely with the founders, Product Owners, and tech leads to support a sustainable delivery pace as we scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Coach and support three Scrum teams in Scrum values, events, and empirical ways of working, adapted to a remote-first context.
- Facilitate key Scrum events (remote Sprint Planning, Daily Scrums, Reviews, Retrospectives) with clear outcomes, strong participation, and good use of online collaboration tools.
- Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement, slicing work for web and mobile, and keeping priorities clear and transparent.
- Proactively identify and remove impediments, from tooling or communication issues to cross-team dependencies and scope conflicts.
- Nurture healthy team dynamics in a remote setting by encouraging open communication, psychological safety, and regular informal check-ins.
- Help teams use lightweight metrics (flow, predictability, quality) to run experiments and continuously improve, without turning metrics into targets.
- Coach team members and stakeholders on agile mindset, self-organization, and cross-functionality rather than taking on coordination work yourself.
- Encourage good remote practices: focused, timeboxed meetings; clear agendas; effective async communication in tools like Slack, Jira, and virtual whiteboards.
- Contribute to shaping our evolving agile practices across the startup (e.g., working agreements, release cadence, cross-team ceremonies).
Required qualifications:
- 3β4 years of experience as a Scrum Master with at least one long-running product team.
- Experience in small or startup environments where processes and structures are still evolving.
- Hands-on experience supporting remote or hybrid Scrum teams using tools like Jira, Slack/Teams, and Miro/Figma or similar.
- Solid understanding of Scrum theory, events, and artifacts, and when to adapt pragmatically.
- Comfortable facilitating engaging remote workshops and ceremonies (breakouts, digital post-its, polls, etc.).
- Strong communication, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills; able to work with developers, designers, testers, and founders alike.
- Good understanding of modern web and mobile product development (you donβt need to code, but you can follow the conversation).
- Confident use of AI tools to enhance analytical work, streamline operations, and improve productivity.
- Experience applying AI for requirements analysis, documentation, and knowledge management.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Preferred qualifications:
- Prior experience supporting multiple teams as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach.
- Experience with continuous delivery and frequent releases for web and/or mobile apps.
- Certification such as PSM II/III or CSM is a plus, but practical experience matters more.
Soft Skills:
Youβll feel comfortable in this role if you:
- take ownership of your work and follow things through;
- prefer solving problems over just highlighting them;
- focus on results and keep things practical;
- communicate openly and respectfully with others.
We offer:
- Salary according to qualifications and experience;
- Official employment;
- 21 working days of paid vacation;
- 14 days paid sick leaves;
- Work on challenging web application projects which we deliver to our clients from all over the world (North America, Europe, Australia, Asia).
