Visual and UX Designer

We are elai.io, an innovative AI-driven startup specializing in video generation. Recently acquired by Panopto — a leader in interactive video solutions — we’re now part of a growing team of around 200 professionals focused on advancing learning through powerful, interactive video technology.

We are looking for a Visual & UX Designer to strengthen our design system and ensure all digital experiences meet the highest standards of visual quality, consistency, and accessibility. In this role, you will refine and expand our design system, build reusable and scalable components, and establish clear guidelines that empower both designers and engineers. Your work will directly support our goal of delivering cohesive, user-friendly, and WCAG 2.1 AA—compliant experiences while improving efficiency across product teams.

Must-have skills

• Expert-level visual design expertise (UI, typography, color, layout)
• Proven experience creating and maintaining design systems
• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA)
• Excellent documentation and communication skills

Key responsibilities

• Refine, expand, and maintain the design system in Figma, ensuring reusable and scalable components
• Document design guidelines, accessibility checklists, and usage standards to drive consistency across teams
• Create and deliver visual assets such as icons, illustrations, patterns, and motion guidelines when needed
• Collaborate closely with developers to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs
• Support product teams by ensuring alignment with brand, usability, and accessibility standards

• Project end date: 9 months from start
• Estimated weekly hours: 30-40 hours/week
