Data Engineer $$$

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to build and scale the data infrastructure behind a fast-growing online education platform. This is a hands-on role with significant ownership, where you’ll play a key part in transforming raw data into actionable insights that drive business decisions and improve user experience.

You’ll work closely with a small, collaborative team of 5 people and operate as an independent contributor—selecting tools, designing systems, and ensuring everything runs efficiently. We embrace modern technologies, including AI tools, and continuously integrate them into our workflows.

What to do:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (ETL/ELT)
• Develop and manage data infrastructure for analytics and reporting
• Organize and structure data for easy access and usability
• Enable real-time or near-real-time insights for marketing, sales, and customer success teams
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and performance across systems
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data needs and deliver solutions
• Take ownership of the data ecosystem, from architecture to optimization

Expected experience:

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering or a similar role
• Strong proficiency in Python
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines
• Experience working with NoSQL databases
• Solid understanding of data modeling and data architecture
• Experience building scalable and reliable data systems
• Comfortable working independently in a startup environment

Will be a plus:

• Experience with modern data stack tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt, Snowflake, BigQuery)
• Familiarity with real-time data processing and streaming technologies
• Experience integrating or working with AI/ML tools in data workflows
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Background in analytics for product, marketing, or customer success teams
