CTO – Payment Systems (Ukrainian Professional)

We’re currently hiring for a CTO position at Tether, a high-growth fintech project. This role will focus heavily on working with payment integrations and the API of RocketGate, so deep experience in payments and high-volume transaction systems is essential.

🚀 Your Mission

• Architecture & Development – Lead the design and development of advanced payment processing systems, APIs, and merchant dashboards. Integrate multiple acquirers, processors, and alternative payment methods. Build robust fraud detection and dispute workflows (VAMP, TC40, CE3.0, Ethoca, RDR).
• Security & Compliance – Ensure PCI DSS compliance, implement strong encryption and data security, and handle multi-jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
• Leadership & Strategy – Define and own the tech roadmap. Build, mentor, and scale a high-performance engineering team. Collaborate with operations, compliance, and sales to deliver features that drive merchant success.

🎯 What We’re Looking For

• Payments Expertise – MUST: Deep understanding of card-not-present payments, acquiring, gateway architecture, and high-risk merchant processing.
• Technical Skills – MUST: Strong proficiency in PHP/Laravel for backend development, plus experience with modern frontend frameworks.
• API Integrations: Proven experience integrating payment processors, acquirers, and risk management tools.
• Security: Strong knowledge of PCI DSS, tokenization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
• Scalability: Experience designing and running high-availability, high-throughput systems.
• Leadership: Demonstrated success managing dev teams and leading technical strategy in fintech or payments.

⭐ Nice to Have

• Crypto payment processing integration experience.
• Machine learning or rules-based fraud detection.
• Offshore acquiring and multi-geo merchant onboarding.
• Previous experience in ISO/MSP environments.
