Unity Developer (for Android applications)

We're seeking a skilled Unity Developer with experience building Android applications to join our remote team, contributing to the development of a next-generation digital therapeutic application focused on cognitive health and addiction recovery.

What you will work on

• Rebuilding the existing Unity-based Android application from the ground up, ensuring clean architecture and comprehensive documentation.
• Collaborating with UI/UX designers to implement redesigned interfaces.
• Integrating and setting up backend services, including databases.
• Ensuring the application meets strong requirements for secure data storage and transmission.
• Participating in the development of alpha and beta versions, incorporating user feedback from lab tests.
• Managing component and complete system-level QA, including changes due to user feedback, using an approved tracking system.

Requirements

• Proven experience in Unity development, specifically building applications for Android.
• Strong understanding of Android-specific development considerations within Unity.
• Basic familiarity with Python (for backend hooks).
• Basic backend engineering and administration skills, particularly with SQL hosted on AWS.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken, is essential for documentation and collaboration responsibilities.
• Ability to work independently and organize your activities, a fully remote environment.
• Proactive communication with other team members (daily and weekly).
• Commitment to confidentiality and strict adherence to non-disclosure agreements.

Nice to Have

• Experience using a QMS (Quality Management System) for design-documentation, application development, and QA.  
• Familiarity with Jira for task-tracking.
• iOS app development.
• Familiarity with the Django framework.
• Experience with software development and data management following HIPAA, SOC2, GDPR, and other security and privacy standards.
• Knowledge of internal and third-party hosted API / endpoint management procedures, over cloud services.

The company is a U.S.-based health technology company specializing in the development of software, hardware, and AI algorithms aimed at enhancing physical and mental well-being. They are currently working on a mobile application designed to support individuals in substance use recovery. The product is undergoing a complete rebuild to meet updated UI/UX designs, and to meet regulatory compliance standards for robust documentation and secure data handling.
