Engineering Manager

We’re now looking for an Engineering Manager to help us lead one of our key projects — a non-profit platform driving global supply chain transparency, so you can contribute to software that matters — for the environment, transparency, and global change.

Responsibilities
- People Management: Hold regular 1:1s, support career growth, define skill gaps, and guide development plans.
- Technical Leadership: Lead code reviews, define coding standards, support architecture discussions, and code occasionally to unblock engineers.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Advanced Facilitation: Lead complex planning, decision-making, and alignment sessions.
- Product Collaboration: Align engineering efforts with business goals, contribute to roadmaps and planning.
- Team Operations: Define and evolve how the team works together to stay efficient, healthy, and motivated.
Requirements
- Prior experience as an Engineering Manager or equivalent leadership role.
- At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong mix of technical expertise, people leadership, and stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and mentorship skills.
- Strategic mindset with hands-on capability.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills (C1+).
Tech Environment (project-specific)
- Backend: Python (Django, FastAPI), PostgreSQL, Kafka, Ruby, OpenSearch
- Frontend: React, Redux, MaterialUI
- DevOps: AWS, Docker, Terraform, GitHub Actions
- Experience with non-profits, understanding their business and challenges will be a plus
- Experience with specific technologies utilized in the project will be a plus, along with understanding how data and API-based products function
