Node.js Developer

We are looking for an experienced Node.js (NestJS) backend developer to join our team for an exciting new product launch.
In this role, you will be responsible for building a scalable backend architecture for a greenfield digital platform. You'll work closely with a cross-functional team to deliver a robust MVP with a clear path to long-term development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain a scalable backend application using NestJS (Node.js)
• Design and document RESTful APIs for integration with the front-end (Flutter) and backend services
• Collaborate closely with the Flutter developer, QA, and part-time Tech Lead
• Define and implement the core backend architecture, including data models and service modules
• Ensure API reliability, performance, and security (e.g., authentication, error handling, unit testing)

• Support MVP delivery (initial 4–6 months) with the potential for ongoing development

   

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience with Node.js and NestJS framework
• Proven experience in building clean, well-documented API layers
• Understanding of microservice architecture principles
• Proficiency with authentication flows (e.g., JWT), database access, and REST API standards
• Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger/OpenAPI)
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and best practices in code versioning
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have:

• Experience working with modular monorepo structures (e.g., Nx)
• Familiarity with Firebase or GraphQL
• Understanding of MVP development best practices and startup workflows
