Azure API / Middleware Engineer to $4400 Offline

We’re looking for an experienced Azure API / Middleware Engineer to support the development of a large-scale B2B customer portal for a global manufacturing and supply chain client. This role will focus on building and maintaining secure, scalable middleware using Azure API Management, Azure Functions, and other Azure-native services.

You’ll be working closely with our backend engineers, architects, and integration team to deliver critical middleware layers that connect a React-based headless frontend with Oracle ERP and Azure Blob Storage systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement serverless middleware using Azure API Management, Azure Functions, and Azure Event Grid.
• Build and manage RESTful and GraphQL API integrations for Oracle ERP and third-party systems.
• Implement intelligent routing, request throttling, RBAC, and audit logging at the middleware level.
• Collaborate on data modeling and mapping across multiple endpoints.
• Ensure middleware layer is scalable, secure, and well-documented.
• Support test automation, error logging, and performance tuning.

Must-Have Experience

• 5+ years with Azure Functions and Azure API Management
• Deep understanding of RESTful API integration, API security, and token-based auth (OAuth2, JWT)
• Experience integrating enterprise systems (e.g., Oracle ERP, document storage systems)
• Solid grasp of cloud-native event-driven design (e.g., using Event Grid or Service Bus)
• Familiarity with RBAC, SSO, MFA, and Azure AD
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with Azure Blob Storage, ElasticSearch, or BillTrust APIs
• Familiarity with headless commerce platforms (e.g. BigCommerce, Shopify Plus)
• Previous work on customer-facing B2B portals
