About the Project:

We’re working with a fast-growing app studio that rapidly builds, tests, and scales consumer subscription apps. The team operates on a zero-to-one model—shipping MVPs fast, learning from users, and doubling down on what gets traction.

You’ll be joining a high-velocity product environment where experimentation and iteration are core to the process. The focus is exclusively on building mobile apps in React Native, translating designs from Figma into clean, user-friendly mobile experiences, and integrating APIs, analytics, and subscription services.

This is an ideal role for someone who has shipped mobile apps from scratch and thrives in a startup-style, async setup with minimal hand-holding.

Your Responsibilities:

• Build and launch consumer iOS apps from scratch using React Native and Expo
• Translate Figma files into pixel-perfect mobile experiences
• Collaborate with a small NYC-based team, including the founder and founding engineer
• Use tools like Cursor, Claude, Windsurf, and GPT throughout the development workflow
• Integrate third-party APIs, analytics, and subscription platforms
• Participate in a 4-week paid trial with potential for long-term engagement
• Prioritize shipping speed while still caring about user experience
• Work with limited specs in a “build-first” environment
• Maintain at least 3 hours of daily ET overlap for collaboration

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience building and shipping mobile apps in React Native
• Mobile-first mindset — not a web dev adapting to mobile
• Strong command of Figma-to-production workflows
• Experience using AI-powered coding tools (Cursor, Claude, GPT)
• Comfortable working independently and async in fast-paced environments
• Scrappy, pragmatic, and able to execute quickly without overengineering
• Advanced English — both written and spoken — is a must
• Bonus: Experience with Expo and mobile subscription apps
