Configuration Technical Lead

We are looking for a Technical Configuration Lead to join our team and take responsibility for delivering high-quality XML configurations based on Customer requirements.

This role combines hands-on work with structured data and technical leadership of a small team (4–6 people).

You won’t be writing production code, but a developer’s mindset is key. We need someone who can understand business and technical requirements, translate them into precise XML, validate the technical work of others, and ensure accuracy across the board.

Customer:

Our UK-based client is an environmental and sustainability reporting company with a focus on supporting businesses that comply with or commit to a wide range of global packaging, plastics, taxes, EPR, and corporate metric submissions.

Project:

The domain is related to environmental and sustainability reporting. A tool (engine) is available to generate reports in the pre-defined format. The format in question differs for each country. Furthermore, there may be multiple formats in use even for a single country.

The idea is to compose the XMLs that the engine uses to generate the reports in the required (pre-defined) format.

We offer:

  • Flexible work options (remote or hybrid)
  • A stable, long-term project with a well-structured workflow
  • Opportunity to lead a team and influence technical delivery quality
  • A role where precision, analytical thinking, and a structured approach truly matter

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a technical role involving work with structured data (XML, CSV, configuration, or similar)
  • Background in software development or computer science (formal education or practical experience)
  • Understanding of programming principles (preferably in .NET or similar language)
  • Experience leading or mentoring technical teams
  • Ability to work with formal specifications
  • Ability to learn new business domains and work with technical documentation independently
  • At least an Intermediate level of English. Upper-Intermediate is preferred, as you will be working with the UK-based Customer

WOULD BE A PLUS:

  • Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines

Personal profile:

  • Be deadline-driven and quality-focused, with high personal standards
  • Remain positive and solution-oriented when facing challenges
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret business requirements provided by clients
  • Write clean, well-structured XML configurations
  • Prepare and maintain structured CSV datasets for testing or configuration purposes
  • Validate the technical quality of configurations delivered by the team
  • Provide guidance and support to team members (4–6 people), ensuring consistency and accuracy
  • Communicate effectively with developers and the Customer’s technical and non-technical stakeholders to ensure alignment across the team
  • Pay close attention to detail, edge cases, and domain-specific logic
