Jira Task Controller
This role is crucial for maintaining discipline, transparency, and efficiency in the work of our IT teams in Jira. The Jira Controller is responsible for the full cycle of time tracking quality control, report generation, performance analytics, and process improvements within Jira.
Your key responsibilities:
- Process Improvement and Compliance Control
• Unification of time logging practices and updating internal regulations for time tracking.
• Automation of routine tasks in Jira (reminders, status updates).
• Monitoring adherence to established rules and time logging standards by all team members. - Time Tracking Control
• Ensure the quality and accuracy of time logging in Jira: timeliness, precision, and compliance with internal standards.
• Identify discrepancies, duplications, or other violations.
• Communicate with PMs, HoDs, teams, and individual employees regarding corrections and improvements. - Reporting and Analytics
• Create regular and ad-hoc reports on team workload, time tracking, and productivity.
• Generate utilization, profitability, and GM reports for team leads and financial monitoring.
• Analyze metrics and prepare conclusions for PMs/HoDs regarding team effectiveness. - Working with Jira
• Set up Jira dashboards and create JQL queries for analytical data retrieval.
• Build filters and custom views for ease of use in Jira.
• Use basic automations (Jira Automation) to improve efficiency
(reminders, statuses). - Excel Analytics
• Build structured Excel reports based on Jira data.
• Work with pivot tables, formulas, and charts for visualizing key metrics. - Documentation and Process Improvement
• Maintain and regularly update documentation for time logging, reporting, and Jira regulations.
• Initiate changes to Jira processes, gather feedback from users, and participate in developing internal time tracking policies.
Requirements & Skills:
- Experience working with Jira (preferably in a role as an administrator, analyst, or process manager).
- Deep understanding of time tracking principles and workload management in project teams.
- Skills in creating and configuring dashboards, reports, and JQL queries for
- analyzing team and project performance.
- Experience in implementing Jira automation.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management principles.
- Experience with Jira Service Management and SLA configuration is an advantage.
- Experience configuring Jira Workflows, Custom Fields, and Permission Schemes.
- Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, financial reporting).
- Experience in preparing detailed utilization and profitability reports.
- Ability to create and update documentation, including time logging and reporting standards.
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and ability to work with large data volumes.
