RnD Manager

Responsibilities

  • Lead the engineering team, fostering a culture of required quality, collaboration, and continuous learning.
  • Participate in development, contributing directly to coding and technical problem-solving.
  • Ensure product development deadlines are met.
  • Along with the team, take responsibility for the development of various core solutions that require an R&D approach (both tech and product research), ensuring innovation, technical excellence, and alignment with business objectives. Create fast prototypes and MVPs.
  • Create and continuously improve engineering processes, policies, procedures, and best practices in engineering methodologies.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to measure the effectiveness of engineering processes and outcomes. Continuously accelerate Time-to-Market.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are informed about all the changes in timelines or scope.
  • Make sure the team is staffed in time and take an active part in the hiring process. Hire and Retain exceptional engineering talent.
  • Advocating on behalf of developers and engineering teams, giving everyone a voice, and acting in the best interest of others.
  • Serve as an effective bridge between the engineering team and business/product managers, ensuring clear communication, alignment of priorities, and mutual understanding of goals and constraints.

 

Previous experience

 

  • A track record of building and managing high-performing teams and building/scaling consumer-facing products.
  • 4+ years of R&D management experience/engineering management, with 5+ years of relevant software development industry experience (Software engineer role) in a fast-paced tech environment.
  • Experience of acting as an interpreter between technical and business parts.
  • Good judgment in making tradeoffs to balance short-term business needs with long-term technical quality
  • Familiarity with the tools and software used by engineers under their oversight.
  • Experience in acting as the main point of contact for stakeholders (management expectation, conflict/escalation management, risk mitigation, problem-solving).
  • English B2+.
