AI Specialist — Remote

We’re looking for a skilled AI Specialist to join our team and enhance our electronic health record (EHR) system for therapists. Your work will directly improve how therapists interact with patient data by developing AI-driven features for quick insights, automated documentation, speech-to-text, and patient booking assistance.

Job Description

As an AI Specialist, you will build and deploy AI solutions to streamline therapist workflows and improve patient engagement. Your main focus will be developing a language model for real-time data insights, text generation for automated documentation, speech-to-text for effortless note-taking, and a conversational assistant for online booking.

Key ResponsibilitiesLanguage Model for Queries

• Develop and deploy NLP models that answer therapist queries like:
   
  • “How many times has patient been here?”
  • “What is the most common diagnosis?”
  • “Show me the most used diagnoses across all my patients.”
• Integrate these models with databases (SQL/NoSQL) for efficient data retrieval.

Text Generation for Therapist Journals

• Train AI models (e.g., GPT-3, T5) on therapist journals to automate documentation and reporting.
• Ensure generated text is relevant, unbiased, and aligns with medical standards.

Speech-to-Text for Notes

• Implement speech recognition models (e.g., Google Speech-to-Text, DeepSpeech, Whisper) to convert therapist spoken notes into structured text.
• Optimize accuracy across different accents, speech patterns, and environments.

Patient Booking Assistant

• Develop a conversational AI chatbot for seamless online appointment scheduling.
• Use frameworks like Rasa, Dialogflow, or Microsoft Bot Framework for intent recognition and natural interactions.

Required Skills and ExperienceNatural Language Processing (NLP) & Question-Answering

• Hands-on experience with Hugging Face Transformers, spaCy, or NLTK.
• Expertise in developing domain-specific language models (BERT, GPT, or similar).

Text Generation & AI Training

• Experience fine-tuning GPT-3, T5, or similar models on medical and therapist documentation.
• Strong skills in data preprocessing and ensuring model-generated text is accurate.

Speech Recognition

• Proficiency with Google Speech-to-Text, OpenAI Whisper, DeepSpeech, and audio processing techniques.
• Experience handling voice data variations and optimizing recognition accuracy.

Conversational AI & Chatbots

• Knowledge of Rasa, Dialogflow, Microsoft Bot Framework for building AI-driven assistants.
• Strong understanding of intent recognition and entity extraction for scheduling-related tasks.

Core Programming & Machine Learning Skills

• Proficiency in Python, including ML frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch.
• Experience working with large datasets (cleaning, preprocessing, augmentation).
• Database experience (SQL/NoSQL) for AI-powered queries.

Healthcare AI & Compliance (Preferred, but not required)

• Familiarity with EHR systems and healthcare data privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
• Prior experience working with medical terminology and structured clinical data.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related fields.
• Previous work experience in healthcare AI, electronic health records, or medical technology.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for AI model deployment and scaling.
