3D Modeler Character Modeler AND Animator Offline

We are looking for a skilled 3D Character Modeler & Animator to join our mobile game development team. In this role, you will be responsible for creating optimized, stylized, and engaging 3D characters that run efficiently on mobile devices. You will work closely with game designers, developers, and other artists to ensure characters are visually appealing, lightweight, and smoothly animated for mobile performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Model and texture optimized 3D characters for mobile games, ensuring a balance between quality and performance.

• Create low-poly and mid-poly character models suitable for mobile platforms.

• Develop UV maps and textures using tools like Substance Painter, Photoshop, or Krita while keeping texture sizes mobile-friendly.

• Rig and skin characters to ensure smooth deformations for mobile animation.

• Animate characters using keyframe techniques, ensuring fluid, responsive, and efficient movements.

• Optimize character assets for low draw calls, minimal memory usage, and real-time performance in game engines like Unity (Mobile).

• Work closely with game designers and developers to ensure animations align with gameplay mechanics.

• Create modular character components for customization systems when needed.

• Troubleshoot and refine character models and animations based on game performance testing and team feedback.

• Stay up to date with the latest mobile game development trends, tools, and optimization techniques.

Key Requirements:

• Proven experience as a 3D Character Modeler & Animator for mobile games.

• Strong portfolio showcasing both stylized character modeling and animation for mobile.

• Expertise in Blender, Maya, or 3ds Max for modeling and animation.

• Proficiency in Substance Painter, Photoshop, or other mobile-friendly texturing tools.

• Strong understanding of low-poly modeling, texture baking, and optimization for mobile performance.

• Experience with rigging and skinning for efficient mobile animation.

• Familiarity with Unity (Animator, Mecanim)

• Knowledge of sprite-based animation, blend trees, and lightweight animation techniques.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, iterative game development cycle.

• Experience with VFX animation, shaders, or physics-based mobile animations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on casual, hyper-casual, RPG, or strategy mobile games.

• Familiarity with 2D-to-3D workflows for mobile.

• Knowledge of optimization tools like Texture Atlases, LODs, and GPU Instancing for mobile games.

• Basic scripting knowledge (Python, C#, or Blueprint) for animation automation.
