Head of DevOps in Cloud Platform Team Offline

As a Head of our DevOps Team, you will be solving challenging problems and helping us to keep our product team’s toolsets at the state-of-the-art level, ensuring that we use the best techniques available and push the limits possible if needed.
You will be involved in all stages of DevOps processes: from developing strategies to detailed development of tools and methods together with the team.

Your expertise:

• Experience in a similar position (Lead / Head of DevOps, DevOps Architect), including team management experience
• Strong knowledge of DevOps principles and CI / CD best practices
• Strong technical background with at least one of the following languages: JavaScript / Go / Java / PHP / Python
• Good understanding of SQL / No-SQL databases, Message Brokers, and their principles
• Distributed systems understanding, principles & patterns
• Strong knowledge of Linux (provisioning, bash scripting, patching)
• Understanding Logging, Monitoring, Alerting
• Network fundamentals
• Proficient experience in Docker
• Production experience with one of the container orchestration systems, like Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, AWS ECS, etc.
• Mastery of AWS services and cloud architecture
• Familiarity with infrastructure as a code concept. Good knowledge of Terraform is required
• Proficient experience in CI / CD configuration (Jenkins is preferred)
• Understanding of Unit / Integration testing. Be ready to integrate automated quality in the usual development flow
• Proficient understanding of Git
• Understanding security basics (cryptography algorithms, authentication & authorization protocols, application security)
• Written English (read & write)
• Robust communication and instructional capabilities
• Superior planning and project management skills
• Excellent leadership skills, ability to inspire a team and build collaboration across departments

Will definitely be a plus:

• HashiCorp products experience such as Vault / Packer / Terraform CDK
• Dealing with security vulnerabilities in common operating systems, web, and applications, including knowledge of remediation procedures
• Practical experience with tools / services for Security in Cloud
• Understanding of the OWASP top 10
• Experience in writing technical documentation and planning
• Understanding fundamental principles of the Scrum / Kanban process

You will be involved into: 

• Strategic leadership of DevOps direction: developing and implementing DevOps strategy aimed at scaling infrastructure and improving CI / CD efficiency
• Team management: building, training, and developing DevOps team, implementing best practices and methodologies aimed at employee productivity and motivation
• Process optimization: analyzing current infrastructure deployment, monitoring, and management processes to improve the speed and reliability of software delivery
• Infrastructure management: ensuring the stability, performance, and security of the infrastructure and its readiness for increased workloads
• Collaborate with other departments: You will be working closely with our Architect, SRE, DBA, and Product development teams to align and implement new solutions
• Automation: implement and optimize automated processes to improve application deployment, testing, and monitoring
