The Role:

SEO is creative and analytical work. It involves a distinct ability to thrive in pattern recognition, accounting for countless variables when ranking a page. You must be an imaginative, analytical and organized individual who loves experimentation, solving complex problems, and challenges conventional wisdom. You will report directly to the SEO Manager.

We are seeking an SEO Contractor to support our SEO department by handling overflow work from any of our SEO clients. You may also be tasked with executing the strategy for an entire account, either temporarily or on a more permanent basis. This role is designed as a stand-alone position under the supervision of the SEO Manager, and does not follow the traditional growth path from Junior to Senior SEO roles. We are looking for individuals who are adaptable and ready to take on any SEO task, whether that involves execution or strategy development for our clients.

• Implement on-page SEO best practices and tactics, including advanced keyword research, technical changes, etc.
• Evaluate website traffic and rankings to identify opportunities for traffic growth
• Collaborate with other SEOs, writers, designers, devs and other team members on new experiments, client work, and more

• Implement competitor analyses and website audits
• Implement internal linking, site structure, keyword cannibalization diagnoses, and competitive analyses
• Culture Building: Be a leader on the SEO team, helping wherever you can and collaborating with others to achieve team goals
• Utilize tools such as GA, GSC and GMB/GBP, Ahrefs, SEMRush, Screaming Frog in conjunction with other SEO tools to analyze sets of data for ranking improvements
• Implement Local SEO initiatives and develop strategies and tactics to rank our client websites
• Experiment with new SEO tactics and strategies, continuously testing and problem-solving

• Challenge the status quo and innovate new ways of producing better results

   

Qualifications:

• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Passion for SEO and desire to learn more in the field
• 2+ Years or More of SEO Experience
• Basic knowledge of GA, GSC and GBP
• Basic familiarity with SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google My Business, Google Search Console, Google Analytics, etc.

• Ability to adapt to the opaque nature of Google's algorithms

• Prior experience in an SEO agency environment
• Bonus points for experience running your own website. We love team members that have taken the initiative to run their own site(s)!
• Are entrepreneurial in nature
• Off-Site, Digital PR, and Linkbuilding experience
• Local SEO experienceExperience working with remote teams
• Knowledge and experience with WordPress and other CMS’s
• Coding background
• Ability to execute both short-term and long-term SEO strategies
• Demonstrated proof of concept (show us some pages you’ve landed top rankings for)

• Automotive (or similar vertical) experience also a big plus since most of our clients are in automotive

Compensation:
