PHP Developer Offline
We are on the lookout for a PHP Developer brimming with experience and enthusiasm to take a pivotal role in our data-oriented approach. This individual will be tasked with writing superior and sophisticated code that serves communities globally. The focus will be on developing the backend infrastructures that fuel our rapidly expanding operations, while also enhancing our engineering methodologies. Importantly, the contributions made in this role will aid in fostering an environment that is more engaging, supportive, and stylish for all members of our community.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain web applications utilizing PHP and its associated technologies, ensuring compliance with coding standards and best practices.
Engage in collaborative efforts with front-end developers, designers, and project managers to produce top-tier solutions, actively participating throughout the entire software development cycle.
Identify, troubleshoot, and rectify issues within existing codebases, with an aim to boost application efficiency and scalability, thereby elevating the user experience.
Incorporate third-party APIs and services flawlessly, while keeping abreast of the latest trends in PHP and web development.
Thoroughly document code and operational procedures, adhering to security best practices to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of the web applications.
Offer technical advice and support to less experienced developers when necessary, and partake in team discussions and decision-making regarding architectural and technological selections.
Candidate Profile:
A minimum of 5 years' experience in PHP development.
Proficiency in relational databases and their optimisation (MySQL, PostgreSQL). (Very important!)
Familiarity with PHP frameworks (Laravel preferred).
A strong grasp of object-oriented programming and design patterns.
Experience in unit and integration testing.
A self-starter with a keen interest in exploring new technologies.
Additional experience with Elasticsearch/Solr, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, or Memcache is advantageous.
Background in TDD (PHPUnit) or BDD (Behat or Codeception).
Experience with Composer / Packagist is highly valued, especially if you have contributed a package.
Knowledge of cloud computing platforms.
Experience in continuous integration (using Jenkins, TravisCI, etc.).
Familiarity with containerization and Docker.
Understanding of Kubernetes.
Expertise in performance optimization.
Proficiency in English.
Ability to work autonomously in a team environment (!)
Continuous integration and performance optimization knowledge is a big plus.
