Senior Java Developer

Team Description:
Backend Team is responsible for managing the Backend For Frontend services that power the Homepage experience for Grubhub. We operate with a focus on efficiency, scalability, and reliability to ensure that users have a seamless and delightful experience when they visit Grubhub's homepage. This team also manages Recommendations Sevice which provides personalized recommendations on various entities working with the data science team.

Key Responsibilities:
Backend For Frontend Services Management: Our team is tasked with designing, developing, and maintaining the Backend For Frontend services that serve as the interface between the frontend client and various backend microservices. These services are crucial for orchestrating data and business logic to deliver a personalized and responsive homepage experience for Grubhub users.
Integration of DDUX and SDUI Libraries: We leverage DDUX (Data-Driven User eXperience) and SDUI (Service-Driven User Interface) libraries to efficiently manage data fetching and UI rendering processes. These libraries enable us to streamline the development process, optimize performance, and ensure consistency in the user experience across different devices and platforms.
Homepage Experience Optimization: Our primary goal is to continuously optimize the homepage experience for Grubhub users. This involves analyzing user behavior, performance metrics, and feedback to identify areas for improvement and implementing enhancements to enhance usability, engagement, and conversion rates.
Collaboration and Communication: We collaborate closely with frontend developers, product managers, designers, and other cross-functional teams to align on requirements, priorities, and timelines. Effective communication is key to ensuring that our backend services meet the needs of the frontend client and deliver a cohesive user experience.
