Ruby on Rails Engineer (offline)

Hi, we are looking for a talented and proactive Ruby on Rails developer to join the Singapore MedTech startup team for a full-time project!

Basically, your duties will be:

• Conceptualize and implement high-quality features, diagnose bugs, and provide practical solutions
• Develop our REST APIs
• Optimize existing backend code and database queries for performance, testability, and scalability
• Cooperate with the local and international agile development team
• Challenge the status quo and try new things to improve our products – we live in an open error culture!

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Ruby on Rails Developer, with a portfolio of successful projects focused on back-end development.
• Proficiency in SQL and database design, with hands-on experience managing and querying relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL).
• Strong understanding of web application development and RESTful API design, with a focus on back-end architecture.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, although the primary focus of this role will be on back-end development.
• Experience working with version control systems, such as Git.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with test-driven development (TDD) and continuous integration (CI) practices.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure.
• Contributions to open-source projects or a GitHub profile showcasing personal projects.
