Senior Python Fullstack Engineer (offline)

Project: It’s a project with a big heart and an ambitious vision: creating a data-driven nonprofit sector with the tools and information it needs to optimize decision-making and maximize impact. We’re doing this by building a single platform (think part LinkedIn, part Crunchbase, but for the nonprofit sector) that brings together the people and organizations in this world.

Team: CTO and Head of Product on the client side, and well as another Senior Python Engineer and a Senior UI/UX Designer on our side who are being hired.

Candidate requirements:
- 6+ years of development experience.
- Strong experience with Python
- Experience with either Django or Flask (the latter is used in the project).
- Experience with SQL (preferably PostgreSQL) and NoSQL DBs.
- Experience with React.js (ver. 16+)
- Expert in Software Design and Architecture
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (direct communication with CTO)
- Excellent analytical skills
- Passion for building products from the ground up.
- Keen attention to detail
- Finally, this is an early-tage startup so flexibility and an ability to work with uncertainty and adapt quickly is important

Will be a plus:
- Experience working with huge amounts of data
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with ElasticSearch
- Experience with TypeScript
- Familiarity with product management and UI/UX software (e.g. Figma, Zeplin) is a bonus, but not required.

Responsibilities:
- Work in close collaboration with others in the team and across the business
- Following industry best practices to develop and deliver high quality, clean and maintainable code
- Own features from technical design and development through ongoing maintenance
- Break down complex tasks/requests into sub-tasks, make consistently good decisions, operate independently between regular or periodic check-ins

We are at the very beginning of our growth journey (pre-MVP) and want experienced developers that will (1) help us shape and build the infrastructure and core of our platform, and (2) help build the foundations of our data architecture. Specifically, we are going to utilize enormous amounts of data, so we are looking for developers that are excited to face this challenge.

Together with the product team, you will build our platform, find and utilize new data sources and even design and implement our infrastructure.
