QA Engineer, Online Retailer

This QA role is to assist the developers in the mobile application feature teams with testing activities relating to release testing, feature development test plans, and configuring test environments for feature testing.

Responsibilities

Execute manual test cases for our weekly application releases for both iOS and Android applications, notifying developers of issues and raising bugs as appropriate
Periodically review and update the Release Testing Plan in collaboration with the development teams to ensure new functionality has adequate coverage
Participate in discovery sessions for new features, providing input on acceptance tests and advising on the overall test strategy
Participate in regular catchup meetings between QA members
Create acceptance tests, test plans, and test executions for each new feature
Assist with preparing and configuring test data and user accounts in the test environment to allow features to be fully tested (manually or via automation)
Conduct exploratory sessions to consider different scenarios and uncover buggy areas
Assist the support team in reproducing bugs reported by retailers
Champion testing as a key part of the Software Development Life Cycle
Collaborate with the ECommerce teams on test automation efforts

Must have

High level of understanding of Quality Assurance in the SDLC
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to focus on the tasks at hand
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Great at critical thinking, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging
Experience in collaborating with developers in an Agile environment
Experience with acceptance criteria
Experience with mobile testing
Experience with exploratory, functional, and regression testing
Knowledge of test management tools
Experience with REST API testing
Good knowledge of testing principles like the testing pyramid and best practices
Knowledge of Version Control concepts

Experience with mobile testing
Experience with REST API testing
Experience applying testing best practices in development teams
Experience with continuous integration and automated testing strategies
Experience with the Shift-Left strategy (early feedback in SDLC)
Experience with GIT and pipelines
Experience using BDD style test definitions or acceptance criteria (When X Then Y)
Experience using emulators/simulators in Android Studio/Xcode IDE
Familiar with tools like Postman or Charles Proxy to check backend request/response
