Senior PHP Developer Offline

Our customer is a high-growth consumer mobile company from Silicon Valley that has raised $200 million in equity capital since inception. The customer base currently exceeds 25 million monthly active users.

The company is at the forefront of a broad range of technologies (mobile, location services, hardware sensors, machine learning, big data, etc) in pioneering its family-centric platform. The company has over 160 employees and counting across offices in the USA. This platform for today’s busy families, bringing them closer together by helping them better sync, communicate with and protect the people they care about most.

Requirements:

5+ years of experience in writing/reading/debugging/optimizing code using PHP

Developing solutions involving HTTP, REST, web technologies, proxies, authentication, and security

Experience with relational and/or non-relational databases

Excellent troubleshooting and attention to detail

Experience with systems/application monitoring

Upper-Intermediate or higher level of English

Good to have:

Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Engineering, related field or equivalent practical experience

Familiarity with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes

Experience with development using Java, Python

Knowledge of Prometheus

Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, support and maintain the platform based on business requirements, using approved technologies and coding standards

Be responsible for making targeted fixes to the code and related infrastructure services. These changes can span from simple cleaning up of unused resources to more complex work updating cache sharding and deployment patterns

Being a part of the Optimization team and work with our SRE team

Making non-business logic changes to services, ensuring that only required resources are being run in AWS, and related lightweight reporting and automation tooling

Communicate with the development team on a daily basis

Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues
