What You Will Do

- Scope, design and implement the unique, large scale, high-performance distributed computing engine as we scale the Webex Assistant in face of complex and often changing business logic
- Continuously measure and optimize the performance, effectiveness, and uptime of backend services -- participate in a data driven culture
- Help debug and solve critical production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack
- Work with engineers across the company to build new features at large-scale, while improve internal engineering standards, tooling, and processes.
- Continuously improve our product by innovating on the service following latest technology trends and business requirements


Who You Are

- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Experience with scaling and maintaining high-traffic production systems in previous positions
- Meticulous around visibility of the systems you build; openmetrics (prometheus/grafana), centralized structured logging, tracing.
- Proficient in Python
- Familiarity with cloud native deployment practices; specifically, containers and container orchestration platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/Helm) and the Kubernetes environment
- Experience working with relational databases (MySQL, Postgres) and key/value stores
- Appreciate agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.
