Our customer is a free, ad-supported Video on Demand (VOD) service that, in addition to on-demand options, primarily distributes its content through digital linear channels designed to emulate the experience of traditional broadcast programming.
The team is building a new video processing solution to fulfill the requirements of the growing OTT platform.
Requirements:
As an individual contributor you will need to provide proven expertise in the following areas:
● 3+ years of experience with compiled languages for backend web applications
○ GoLang (preferred) / Java / C++, etc.
● 4+ years of engineering experience (CS, Engineering, Physics, Math, etc)
● Conversational verbal skills for the English language.
● Excellent written skills for the English language.
● Must be able to work a regular on-call rotation shared equally between the team members.
Experience with the following would be helpful:
● Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, Cloudformation, Kubernetes, Helm
● GitHub, GitHub Actions
● Jenkins, Circle CI, Ansible, Salt, etc
● Microservices Architecture
● Testing Best Practices
○ Unit Tests
○ Automated test suites
● Software Design Best Practices
○ Encapsulation ○ Decoupling
Preferences:

Responsibilities:
As a Golang Software Engineer, you will be expected to contribute with a team of engineers to support an industry-leading Over-the-Top (OTT) software platform.
You will attend regular sprint meetings, and work closely with other engineers to fix bugs, work on technical debt, and design & implement features. In this role, you will be considered to be 100% autonomous for day-to-day work.
Furthermore, you will be mentored by an engineer. This mentoring will come in the form of pair programming, “onboarding buddy”, etc.
