What You’ll Be Doing / Responsibilities:

 

Perform day-to-day production MS SQL database administration tasks in a Windows environment, including maintenance, troubleshooting, tuning, optimization, installation, upgrades, backup/recovery, and data migration across multiple data centers and multiple database server architectures/systems

Work closely with Engineering to design and implement performant database architecture and objects

Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues with developers

Manage and monitor DB nodes and clusters: performance and capacity planning, connectivity and security

End-to-end performance tuning (slow-running queries, etc)

Database backup and recovery, connectivity, security, performance monitoring and tuning

Disk space management

Maintain database design/release documentation

What We’re Looking For / Requirements:

 

High Technical Degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields.

Minimum of 5 years supporting DB infrastructure running in Ent. environment

Minimum of 3 years designing and implementing Disaster Recovery solutions for Microsoft SQL

Microsoft SQL : Software installation and configuration, patches and upgrades

Deep experience in Microsoft SQL and experience with MS Orchestrator

Experience using monitoring and management tools

Programming/development skills using PL/SQL ( procedures, functions, triggers).

Ability to perform on call responsibilities in response to incidents

Excellent communication, time management, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex technical concepts into understandable lay terms.

Ability to read/write technical documentation in English.
