Our engineering philosophy
We organize into small cross-functional teams that are deeply focused on one product or initiative. These teams are empowered to make product and technology decisions and quickly build the best solutions for our users. Our UA team will consist of a Designer, Product Manager, Sr Backend, Lead FrontEnd, and QA in the nearest few months. We lean heavily on automation, good test coverage, and continuous deployment to ensure we’re constantly getting rapid feedback from our users, and follow the approach of starting small, shipping often, and deferring unnecessary complexity. We believe that we build better products when our teammates have a variety of perspectives and experiences, so we care a lot about creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
What you will do
~ Lead development across large features and views, working across all aspects of the development cycle ~ Work closely with functional heads, stakeholders and fellow developers to meet both technical and consume requirements while maintaining regular communication of progress ~ Comfortably operating within an Agile team using SCRUM methodologies ~ Assisting in the implementation of the overall front-end web architecture ~ Ensuring the UI is built for speed, scalability, reusability, & accessibility ~ Integrating our front-end UI with the back-end API services ~ Implementation of RESTful API frameworks ~ Connection, manipulation, and consumption of various SaaS data APIs ~ Integrating AWS services where beneficial for project needs
~ At least 7 years’ experience with the end-to-end life cycle of Agile software development ~ Experience leading a team ~ Experience working in a startup/fast paced environment ~ Solid experience with the targeted development frameworks including React, Redux ~ Experience collaborating via sprint planning, daily standups, ticket management, sprint demos, and sprint retrospectives ~ Experience implementing Storybook component stories and unit tests ~ Experience with NodeJS is a plus ~ Familiarity with developing for a cloud platform such as AWS ~ Thorough understanding of user experience, containers, microservice hosting, and application security practices ~ Proficiency with Git / BitBucket, Git-flow branch management, Jira, and Docker all pluses ~ Appreciation for clean and well-documented code and attention to detail ~ Proactive communication across and within the team

Note: The Lead role requires enough experience to be able to lead a team and design large complex features and systems, but we care much more about abilities and attitude than a specific number of years of experience.
