Backend Engineer - eCommerce (offline)

You’ll develop end to end advanced ecommerce solutions and infrastructure, and shape the future of ecommerce on a global scale.

Our backend developers are responsible for building store infrastructure and platforms that can easily be integrated with. We’re also working with huge amounts of data on a massive scale, to serve our stores from multiple datacenters to every visitor on the planet.
Our team is small and operates like a startup, with its own dev (FED and BED), product, UX, QA, analyst, ops, and marketing. The work you’ll do is key to our rapid growth.

What You’ll Do

Starting from the kick off with product and UX, and all the way to deployment - this is a dev-centric environment in which you’ll be involved in all stages.
Be responsible for the design and architecture aspects of your work.
Release your code to production on a daily basis - we work in CI/ CD methods.
Own, test, and deploy your code. Owning it means also waking up at night when something needs an immediate response.

What We’re Looking For

To fit this role, you need a solid backend background in a web environment, and to be passionate about what you do. You should have a can do attitude and be willing to take on ownership of the code you write, and be responsible for critical bug fixes when they happen, in real time.
You need to know architecture and design, and realize there’s no one else to do it for you. You should be a real team player, someone who cares about the team goals and putting in the work to realize them. Since we move quickly around here, you’ll need to have a positive approach towards change and be willing to adapt in a dynamic environment.

Backend Developers at Wix

You’ll be part of Wix’s Backend Engineering guild that shapes the architecture of our backend microservices. The guild will provide you with training, workshops and career development on a weekly basis. You’ll work in a dev-centric environment that focuses on learning and development. At least 20% of your time will be dedicated to learning and working on cross-company projects.
Due to our high scale, we run our production clusters across multiple data centers and cloud vendors, managing an ecosystem of over 1,300 microservices. This introduces unique distributed system challenges of synchronization, performance, testing, and monitoring while working with cutting edge technologies.
