Senior Database Developer (MS SQL) / Ecentria / Possible relocation to Chicago Offline

What You'll Do Here:

The Database Performance Expert ensures the current database systems are properly utilized and accurately plans for future expansion based on a fluid, agile environment

The role ensures timely response to production performance issues in a matrix-based responsibility model, and collaborates continuously with other teams to ensure consistent delivery across all development teams, avoiding duplication of efforts

This position is responsible for database performance, monitoring, collaboration with the development team as they introduce new applications and infrastructure as well as the Global Technology Services (GTS) team to coordinate maintenance, backup and patching of the different database platforms.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop complex stored procedures, functions, triggers, views and queries in support of application development

Participate in application development projects and be responsible for the database architecture and design

Review and optimize existing stored procedures, functions, triggers and queries

Convert existing embedded SQL code into stored procedures

Develop custom scripts to automate various database management processes

Develop PowerBI reports

Define and review best practice standards for data integrity

Develop various ETL jobs for our Data Warehouse

Skills & Requirements:

At least 5 years of professional work experience

Strong problem solving skills

Positive attitude and strong work ethic

Strong written and verbal English communications skills

A degree in Computer Science, IT or related field is considered a plus

Qualification:

Strong experience in T-SQL, procedures, functions, triggers, views and queries

Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014/2016 and newer

Knowledge of PowerBI is considered a plus

Experience with SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, & SSDT

Working knowledge of MySQL databases

Knowledge and experience of Data Warehouse concepts
