Full Stack Ruby on Rails Web Developer (offline)

This is a full-time remote position with 3 slots available. We are primarily interested in candidates from Lviv, Ukraine.

REQUIRED SKILLS
- At least 5 years of experience in web development with Ruby on Rails
- Proficient in HTML / CSS / SASS
- Proficient in JavaScript (jQuery in particular)
- Experience with data structures and SQL (particularly MySQL)
- REST-aware
- Scalability oriented, experience with software optimization
- Security conscious
- Consuming and creating APIs
- Flexible, success-focused team player
- English language – at least upper-intermediate

GOOD TO HAVE
- BSc / MSc in Computer Science
- Experience with modern front-end frameworks
- Experience with AWS and cloud architecture (EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda etc.)
- Advanced English proficiency
- Analytical mindset, passionate about statistics and data
- Experience working with big data
- Prior experience in EdTech

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- New features development
- Improvements and fixes to the existing code base
- Cooperating with front-end developers (RESTful API extensions, integrating HTML / CSS code etc.)
- Brainstorming on the aspects of the technical product development
- Building integrations with 3rd-praty services and platforms
- Code quality improvements and cleanup
- Ongoing performance optimization

COMPENSATION
- Monthly compensation of 3,500 USD to 4,500 USD, based on your qualification
- You will be employed directly with the Skipper LLC. company via a contract
- Your private entrepreneur status and contract will be managed by our on-site accountant
