10+ years experience working in mainframe environments as System Engineer or Production control and also supporting Workload Automation and Output Management tools/Implementations

Required Skills:

ZOS

TSO, ISPF, IBM utilities (ADRDSSU, ICKDSF, etc).

Control-M, Control-D

RACF

Enterprise/mainframe schedulers:

IBM TWS (Tivoli Workload Sched

CA7 Scheduler / CA Workload Automation AE (AutoSys Edition)

Tidal Workload Automation

BMC Control-M for Mainframe

Programming/scripting languages:

Rexx (for tools creation and adhoc task), Clist, ISPF macros, COBOL-DB2(mostly used) and CICS-DB2 along with JCL (to run the job)

Databases:

IBM DB2, IMS DB, File systems like VSAM, IAM, QSAM

Desired skills:

DB2

CICS

Scheduler and Output Management competition products (CA, IBM, HCL, etc)

Distributed systems

Control-M implantations distributed environments.

Conversions from other schedulers to CONTROL-M

In general a TSCO consultant needs:

good background in different IT areas (e.g. virtualization, storage, cloud computing, network)

knowledge of ITIL Capacity Management process

good knowledge of Oracle/PostgreSQL SQL to develop custom views/reports

good knowledge of BIRT to develop custom reports

good knowledge of JAVA/Perl to develop ETLs

basic knowledge of Linux scripting

Job Responsibilities

Work closely with BMC, partner and customer resources at client sites (in EU and the Middle East) to deliver required outcomes with BMC solutions and produce additional business with BMC clients;

Drive solution design, adoption, and business value realization through the analysis and transformation of clients’ existing data center and IT operational models – driving customers to manage their IT as a business;

Transfer knowledge of the BMC approach (best practices) to business service management;

Apply technology to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of specific functions or applications:

Implement, customize, and configure BMC products;

Integrate BMC products to each other and third-party applications;

Improve the quality and efficiency of the solutions delivered to BMC clients as a means to improve BMC business margins;

Deliver presentations at technical and managerial level (e.g. solution overview, business solution design, delivery progress updates, solution adoption plans, training, etc.);

Maintain open lines of communication throughout each project phase, appropriately highlighting progress, risks, and issues to all stakeholders, both internal and external;

Pro-actively maintain a deep technical and functional knowledge of BMC solutions and offerings.
