Senior UI/UX Engineer (offline)

Duties and responsibilities
Utilize a variety of programming languages to create user-friendly responsive web pages (HTML5, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, PHP, et al)
Build high-quality mockups and design website prototypes with high-quality graphics and visual elements
Maintain and improve websites for the Company and their Clients
Optimize web applications for maximum speed
Design and build mobile-based features
Ensure design consistency with brand guidelines
Assist in the creation and maintenance of process documentation, guidelines, and best practices
Make informed decisions for product and website improvements, based on customer and user feedback
Identify potential and existing problems or issues and make suggestions for improvements accordingly
Keep abreast of latest and emerging technologies
Involvement and oversight in ongoing product and technical development sprint schedule including some SCRUM team guidance
Report to head of Product Department for regular updates, including quality and performance reviews
Attend training and education as needed

Wordpress Design and Maintenance, Including:
Help formulate effective, responsive designs and turn them into working themes and layouts
Design and implement new site features and functionality
Establish and guide website architecture
Ensure high-performance and availability while managing all technical aspects of the CMS
Qualify, implement, and update plugins
Implement content updates, including copy, imagery, and styling
Make adjustments to page layouts and create new page layouts
Ensure basic SEO markup is applied on all pages
Install and maintain site widgets
Setup and maintain form inputs
Integrate Mailing Lists (e.g. MailChimp)
Perform content updates on additional CMS platforms as necessary
Maintain clean and consistent CSS stylesheets
Maintain SSL settings and updates to hosting environments as needed
Maintain site backups and archives
Requirements and qualifications
4+ yrs Experience in design, installation, and maintenance of responsive websites for Wordpress, Shopify, etc
Advanced understanding of HTML/CSS and ability to create from scratch
Experience building user interfaces for wordpress websites
Experience designing and developing responsive design websites
Comfortable working with debugging tools like Firebug, Chrome inspector, etc.
Ability to understand CSS changes and their ramifications to ensure consistent style across platforms and browsers
Ability to convert design comps and wireframes into working pages
Knowledge of graphics software such as Adobe Suite, Sketch, Balsamiq, etc.
