DataStage Developer (offline)

Required skills
— Knowledge and hands-on experience in developing IBM DataStage V11.x: a sequence of parallel jobs and server jobs;
— Strong Microsoft SQL Server background — database design, performance tuning; strong Transact-SQL knowledge;
— Experience with different data sources: Oracle Database, SQL Server, DB2 mainframe/LUW, FTP/SFTP protocols, REST API, XML, JSON, Microsoft Excel;
— Understanding of the BI, ETL, ELT, TEL, DWH processes, scheme, and models;
— Strong Linux or Unix skills and knowledge;
— Ability to review customer’s requirements and come up with practical suggestions for improvements;
— Ability to analyse and understand existing ETL processes and write ETL/ELT processes from scratch;
— An Intermediate level of English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities
— Development, improvement, and support of ETL/ELT system based on IBM DataStage;
— Creating documentation for new and existing system components;
— Work directly with the customer to get or clarify requirements, resolve an issue, answer questions, etc.;
— Providing support of customer’s systems working Ukrainian business hours mostly;
— Readiness to address urgent problems and issues.

Our client is an international chain with over 2000 offline stores in more than 30 countries. Our main project mission is to help the customer to replace expensive and not really efficient SAS solution with Big Data. What is more, our customer is continuously working on maintaining their current DataStage ETL environment, and that’s the development direction you will take. To increase the capacity for ETL project work, you will join the international ETL team on database design, development, performance tuning, and many more interesting and challenging duties.
