Decline and archive are separate now
Once a thread has a decline from either side, you can archive it silently without sending another decline. Inbox alerts are simpler and more neutral.
Until now, archiving a thread sometimes meant sending another decline to the other side. That caused unnecessary "rejected" notifications.
New rules:
- A thread needs at most one decline โ either from the recruiter or from the candidate. After that, anyone can archive (or un-archive) the thread silently.
- A candidate can still apply to a different job from the same recruiter, with the usual 30-day timeout between applications.
- A recruiter can't send another poke into a closed thread, but if they start a new message to the candidate the thread re-opens and the candidate gets notified as normal.
We also simplified inbox alerts and reworded the system "decline" message to sound less harsh.
