About the Role
We're looking for an engineer to build the middleware layer connecting a marine radar system to an IP camera network for an early-warning detection system. This is an SDK-integration and systems-integration role — connecting sensor hardware, camera streams, and edge servers into a working detection pipeline, not low-level firmware work.

What You'll Do
Integrate radar data ingestion using a vendor-provided SDK
Build a middleware prototype that logs timestamped detection events and links them to camera footage for evidence review
Integrate a 360° PTZ IP camera via ONVIF/RTSP, including continuous recording and night (IR) performance
Implement timestamp synchronization between radar and camera data streams
Spec out and validate site network/server infrastructure: managed switch + PoE budget, NVR storage, VPN/remote access, time sync (NTP)
Evaluate feasibility of radar-triggered camera control (no build required - assessment only)
Document architecture decisions, integration gaps, and open risks clearly for a non-technical client audience

What We're Looking For
Experience integrating with a vendor hardware SDK (sensor, radar, or industrial/marine electronics preferred), including working from incomplete or evolving documentation
Hands-on experience with IP camera protocols (ONVIF, RTSP); PTZ vendor API experience (e.g. SUNAPI) is a plus
Solid systems programming ability (C/C++, C#, or Python) - versatility matters more than a specific language
Practical networking/edge-infrastructure knowledge: managed switches, PoE, NVR/storage sizing, VPN, time sync
Comfortable working across Windows and Linux environments
Strong written documentation skills - deliverables include architecture memos and technical readiness reports, not just code
Able to work under NDA within a client-owned codebase/repository

Nice to have: prior radar/sensor-fusion experience, ROS2 exposure, experience scoping feasibility vs. build work.

About the Role

Шукаємо Embedded Software Engineer, який має практичний досвід розробки програмного забезпечення для реального hardware та хоче працювати з embedded-системами на стику firmware, Linux, networking, security та low-level development.

Нам не потрібна людина, яка вже знає абсолютно все. Важливі сильна база, практичний досвід роботи з hardware та готовність швидко розбиратися в нових технологіях.

Що для нас обов’язково

• Практичний досвід розробки embedded software, яке працює на реальному hardware:
   

  • MCU firmware на C/C++, протестоване на фізичній платі; або
  • Embedded Linux: Yocto, Buildroot, Armbian, Tizen, Android чи аналогічні системи.

  Достатньо одного з цих напрямів. Досвід з обома буде суттєвою перевагою.

• Впевнена робота з datasheets, reference manuals та технічною документацією.
• Вміння самостійно діагностувати low-level проблеми та знаходити причину, якщо hardware поводиться не так, як очікується.
• Готовність швидко вивчати нові технології та занурюватися в суміжні області.

Додатковий досвід

Очікуємо практичний досвід щонайменше у трьох із напрямів нижче:

• RTOS: FreeRTOS, Zephyr, ThreadX або аналогічні системи; робота з tasks, interrupts та synchronization.
• Yocto: створення власних recipes та layers, а не лише збірка готового image.
• Rust: embedded Rust на microcontrollers або Rust під Linux.
• Radio / Wireless: LoRa, BLE або інші sub-GHz технології; розуміння airtime, link budget та особливостей бездротового зв’язку.
• Precise timing: interrupts, hardware timers та задачі з дедлайнами на рівні кількох мікросекунд.
• Multi-core processors: системи, де різні ядра працюють під різними OS та обмінюються даними між собою.
• Embedded cryptography: AES, MAC, key management, захист від replay attacks.
• Low-power design: sleep modes, duty cycling, оптимізація енергоспоживання та вимірювання струму.
• Supporting tools: MQTT, Python, Ansible, CI/CD та інструменти для deployment, monitoring і керування парком пристроїв.

Що потрібно буде робити

• Розробляти та підтримувати software для embedded-пристроїв.
• Працювати безпосередньо з hardware та тестувати рішення на реальних пристроях.
• Дебажити проблеми на рівні firmware, operating system, drivers та hardware interfaces.
• Працювати з datasheets, протоколами та документацією виробників компонентів.
• Брати участь у проєктуванні embedded architecture та технічних рішень.
• Працювати з communication protocols, networking та peripheral devices.
• Покращувати reliability, performance, timing та power efficiency систем.
• Створювати та підтримувати інструменти для тестування, deployment та автоматизації.
