    About the Client

Our client, global FinTech startup, is building a modern financial intelligence platform that helps teams analyze performance, forecasts, and operational metrics across time. Our product focuses on correctness, trust, and clarity, especially when dealing with financial and analytical data.

We are early-stage but live, with real users and real data. Quality is not optional.

    Role Overview

We are looking for a Manual QA Engineer with 3+ years of experience to take ownership of quality across the client's product.

This is our first dedicated QA role. You will not just execute test cases - you will help define how manual QA is done at Iris, working closely with Product and Engineering to ensure releases are stable, predictable, and well-tested. This role is hands-on, collaborative, and impact-driven.

    What You Will Do

    • Own manual testing for new features, improvements, and bug fixes
      Validate complex user workflows, including:
      • Data ingestion and connector setup
      • Metrics configuration, overrides, and calculations
      • Time-based grouping (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, yearly)
      • Forecasting and reporting views
    • Design, document, and maintain:
      • Test cases
      • Test scenarios
      • Regression checklists
    • Perform data validation using SQL, including querying PostgreSQL tables to verify data accuracy, comparing UI results with source data, validating aggregations, calculations, and edge cases
    • Perform exploratory testing to uncover edge cases and data issues
    • Verify UI/UX consistency across browsers and screen sizes
    • Validate API responses and data correctness where relevant
    • Report bugs with clear reproduction steps, expected vs actual results, and supporting evidence
    • Collaborate closely with:
      • Product on requirements clarity
      • Engineering on defect triage and release readiness
    • Support release sign-off and post-release verification

    Required Skills & Experience

    • 3+ years of experience in manual QA for web applications
    • Strong experience testing: data-heavy and user-facing web interfaces
    • Experience testing systems built as modular backends rather than isolated microservices
    • Solid understanding of:
      • Web application behavior
      • REST APIs (basic validation and inspection)
      • Cross-browser testing
    • Proven ability to write clear, structured test cases and to produce high-quality bug reports
    • Comfortable working in evolving, fast-moving product environments
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking

    Nice to Have

    • Experience with financial, analytics, or reporting platforms
    • Basic SQL knowledge (read-only queries, data verification)
    • Familiarity with React-based frontends
    • Exposure to PostgreSQL or similar relational databases
    • Experience working in early-stage or startup environments

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

    • Strong understanding of client's product flows and data behavior
    • A reliable regression testing checklist in place
    • Fewer last-minute surprises before releases
    • Clear, actionable QA feedback trusted by Engineering
    • Improved confidence in production releases
