Necessary skills and qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in schematic and PCB design
• Knowledge of analog and digital electronics, RF circuits 
• Familiarity with PCB design rules, layout considerations, and RF design guidelines
• Experience with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout (project setup, rules configuration, library management, signal routing tools, project releaser, layer stack manager)
• Understanding of electronics design principles (power supply design, voltage regulation, DC-DC converters, AC-DC conversion, efficient power management, low-power design techniques)
• Hands-on experience with simulation tools (e.g., LTspice, PLECS, or similar) to analyze and optimize power circuits before implementation
• Understanding of the board bring-up process, as well as identifying and troubleshooting hardware issues 

• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to electronics, safety, and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)

   

Will be a plus:

• Ability to write simple test software for hardware bring-up activities 
• Experience in electronics manufacturing support
• CE, FCC, and RED certification support experience

Our experience spans highly complex domains, from developing ultra-low-power devices capable of operating for up to 10 years on a single charge to engineering systems for exoskeletons, industrial robotics, and even the aerospace industry (e.g., specialized biolaboratories).

Role Overview

We are seeking a high-caliber Senior RF Systems Engineer to lead the development of next-generation situational awareness and electronic warfare (EW) platforms. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of RF subsystems, from initial research (TRL 1) to field-tested operational prototypes (TRL 7+). Your work will directly impact projects such as autonomous drone detection, FHSS signal classification, and distributed SIGINT mesh networks.

Key Responsibilities

RF Design & Integration

• Design and optimize RF front-ends for unmanned aerial systems (UAVs) and ground-based detection stations.
• Develop hardware and firmware for high-speed FHSS (Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum) detection and mitigation.
• Architect and implement Mesh Networking protocols for distributed sensor arrays (e.g., FPV-borne SIGINT mesh).

Signal Intelligence (SIGINT) & Electronic Warfare

• Develop algorithms for passive RF geolocation and signal classification.
• Engineer solutions for Drone Detection, focusing on identifying digital and analogue transmitting signatures even under heavy jamming.
• Design and test spoofing detection systems for Galileo and GPS navigation.

Field Validation & Testing

• Lead field testing of RF prototypes in relevant operational environments to validate TRL exit criteria.
• Analyze battlefield RF signatures to refine "kill zones" and improve EW training simulators.
• Collaborate with the software team to integrate RF data into C2 (Command and Control) dashboards.

Technical Requirements

SDR Mastery

Expert proficiency with Software Defined Radio platforms (HackRF, BladeRF, Ettus USRP) and GNU Radio.

Signal Processing

Deep understanding of digital modulation (OFDM, FSK), FFT analysis, and hopping pattern reconstruction.

Hardware

Experience with PCB layout for RF applications (up to 6GHz), antenna design, and impedance matching.

Frequency Bands

Experience working across 300–600 MHz (FHSS), 2.4 GHz, and 5.8 GHz bands.

Tools

Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C++ for real-time signal analysis.

• Proven experience with SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) filters and LNA (Low-Noise Amplifier) design/integration.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of FPGA development for low-latency signal processing (Verilog/VHDL).
• Background in military-grade communication protocols and LPI/LPD (Low Probability of Intercept/Detection) systems.

Description

The engagement supports a maintenance assessment and advisory for a legacy mainframe environment built primarily on COBOL, running mission-critical batch and online workloads. The objective is to establish a fact-based understanding of the current application estate and its support model, and to define a scoped, low risk maintenance pilot as the basis for a potential longer term managed services engagement.

The initial advisory phase is an assessment structured in three stages: a scope-alignment workshop to agree services, ownership, and boundaries; a current-state assessment of the code estate, data, batch/online flows, operations, and ticket history to establish baselines and pain points; and a pilot-identification stage to prioritize candidate use cases and define objectives and success metrics. The phase is diagnostic in nature — it covers evaluation, characterization, and effort estimation only, with no code remediation or production changes performed during assessment. Success depends heavily on timely access to client subject-matter experts and to the target environment.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on COBOL maintenance and support experience in a z/OS environment.
• Able to read, trace, and document unfamiliar legacy COBOL, JCL, and batch flows without complete documentation.
• Experience extracting inventories and running static or dependency analysis across a codebase.
• Comfortable working under an architect’s direction and producing structured, reusable analysis artifacts.
• Detail-oriented and able to work to a tight assessment timeline.

Job responsibilities

• Extract and catalogue the application, program, copybook, JCL, and data inventory.
• Perform and validate static and dependency analysis and generate code metrics across the estate.
• Trace and document batch and online program flows and their data touchpoints.
• Review AI-generated inventories and dependency maps and correct errors against source.
• Flag anomalies, dead code, and high-risk or high-complexity areas.
• Support the architect in validating findings against client SME input.
