As a developer, you will implement and support existing embedded system libraries, as well as create integrated hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing systems to improve production code quality.

Requirements
We are looking for a Trainee Embedded C Developer to join our Lviv office who would like to:

• Gain experience in embedded software development for microcontrollers
• Improve theoretical and practical knowledge of the C programming language

• Understand and gain experience in modern approaches to integration testing for complete software applications on electronic devices

   

Key skills:

Job responsibilities

We are looking for a strong Embedded Developer with Product Security experience to join a hands-on project focused on bringing an existing embedded product in line with the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) requirements ahead of the 2027 deadline.

This is not a pure compliance or audit role. You will work directly with firmware, product security, and a large, long-lived codebase alongside an experienced in-house engineering team.

What you will do

• Implement Secure-by-Design / Secure-by-Default practices in firmware;
• Work on authentication, access control, encryption, and attack-surface reduction;
• Implement signed and authenticated firmware updates, including automatic updates, opt-out, and rollback;
• Develop device identity management and PKI integration;
• Implement security logging, monitoring, and secure data deletion;
• Set up machine-readable SBOM tooling and integrate it into the build process;
• Establish vulnerability triage and remediation workflows;
• Support security fixes that can be released independently from functional releases;
• Perform firmware security testing, including fuzzing and penetration testing;
• Use AI assistants to understand unfamiliar parts of the codebase, trace data flows, and identify security risks;
• Create technical documentation covering architecture, risk assessment, and SBOM references.

What we are looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with C/C++;

• Proven product security experience on shipped hardware;
• Practical knowledge of Secure Boot, firmware signing, and secure firmware updates;
• Experience with PKI and device identity;

• IoT or Industrial Control Security experience is highly desirable;

We are looking for a Senior C++ Developer to join our team on a long-term outstaff project for a global client in the manufacturing industry.

The project focuses on a commercial Windows desktop application deployed on Windows Server and edge devices used by large manufacturing enterprises. The application is responsible for configuring edge devices, managing configuration data, and providing extensive logging and diagnostics capabilities.

As a Senior C++ Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and extending a large legacy C++ codebase while contributing to the development of new features and improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, refactor, and extend a legacy C++ Windows desktop application.
• Design and implement new features based on business requirements.
• Develop functionality for edge device configuration and management.

We are looking for an experienced C++ / backend engineer to join on a short-term, time-bound basis to lead refactoring and modernization work on a mature desktop application. The product has a large, cross-platform C++ codebase (~500k lines of code plus third-party dependencies) built on Qt5. The primary goal of the engagement is to modernize the build toolchain and dependency stack, with the migration to Apple Silicon as the top priority.

Not all of the tasks below are guaranteed to be completed within the engagement. At a minimum, the Intel → Apple Silicon migration must be delivered; remaining items will be prioritized based on time and progress.

• Responsibilities:

  Migrate the macOS build of the application from an Intel to an Apple Silicon build (C++ codebase, ~500k LOC plus third-party libraries, Qt5).
  Migrate third-party libraries from Conan 1.x to Conan 2 across the Windows, macOS, and Linux builds.
  Update the Linux build to use Clang 19 (from Clang 11) and move the build to Ubuntu 24.04.
  Update selected third-party libraries to recent versions to meet security requirements.
  Migrate the codebase from C++17 to C++20.

• Mandatory Skills Description:

  Proficiency in modern C++ (17/20) and cross-platform development across Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  Strong experience with CMake and build-system toolchain configuration.
  Hands-on knowledge of the Conan package manager.
  Familiarity with the Clang / LLVM toolchain.
  Experience with Qt5 application development and macOS packaging / code signing.

About the Project

You will join the Broadband team working on Harmonic's CableOS, a software-based, cloud-native networking platform for cable operators.

CableOS enables broadband services to run on general-purpose CPUs instead of dedicated hardware, supporting deployment on both bare-metal servers and private cloud infrastructure.

The platform is based on a microservice architecture and focuses on high-performance networking and software-defined networking (SDN).

CleverFiles is an American product company with Ukrainian roots that has been developing software for users worldwide since 2009. Our flagship product is Disk Drill, a data recovery application available for macOS and Windows.

The product helps users recover lost files, photos, documents, and other crucial data. We operate in the data recovery software niche, where quality, reliability, an intuitive interface, and user trust are of utmost importance.

Disk Drill is not the only product in the CleverFiles portfolio. We also develop Clever Cleaner, an iPhone cleaning app, Clever AI Humanizer, a tool for humanizing AI-generated content, as well as several new products currently in development.

About you:
