• Background in Finance (understanding tickers, earnings calls, etc.).

Forward Deployed Engineer is a backend engineering role one step above Senior. You keep writing production code and building integrations, and on top of that you own the technical side of client deployments: architecture decisions, work with client engineers, and responsibility for getting each project to go-live.

You'll lead deployments of a composable healthcare platform used by health systems, CROs, pharma companies, and government organizations. As the hands-on technical lead from kickoff to go-live, you'll scope what each client actually needs, architect the solution, and build the configurations and integrations that take it into production.

The company is building the operating layer for healthcare and life sciences. Its platform building blocks can be configured into mission-critical software for SaMD and AI clinical workflows, remote patient monitoring, decentralized trials, and more. This role suits a backend engineer with strong integration and architecture experience who enjoys working directly alongside customers to solve hard problems.

What You'll Do:

• Own the full technical implementation and deployment lifecycle of the platform across your assigned accounts and projects
• Act as the primary technical build authority for prospective and existing clients, turning deep platform knowledge into successful production outcomes
• Scope, architect, and build custom configurations and integrations where the platform can deliver measurable value
• Lead complex technical, data integration, and clinical safety architecture work, and remove the technical blockers that delay go-live
• Work closely with Product, Core Engineering, Privacy, Regulatory, and client technical teams so that solutions are built accurately and delivered at high quality
• Track implementation milestones and take accountability for technical delivery on your accounts

What We're Looking For:

AP US Tax Compliance and Advisory is a US tax firm based in Israel serving Israeli investors with US real estate and US citizens living abroad. Owner-run, growing, and building its own technology.

THE PROJECT

We prepare US tax returns in Wolters Kluwer CCH Axcess and have automated most of the preparation through CCH's REST API: import, calculation, printing, review memos, e-file qualification and release all run from code today. What runs in scripts must become a product before the 2027 filing season: a client platform where clients (or their AI assistants) complete a structured intake, the system extracts data from documents, prepares the return through CCH, routes it to a human reviewer and signer, collects an e-signature and payment, releases the e-file and delivers the result. The design document, data model, state machine, API and security model are written. You will be the first engineer and you will own the backend.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Backend architecture and implementation: Python 3.12, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy/Alembic, Postgres, a job queue, workers, webhooks.

- The CCH Axcess API module as a server-side job runner: one in-flight job per return, global concurrency limits, exponential backoff on locks, idempotency keys, prompt handling, structured results, parked-job alerts.

- Security engineering: PII vault with field-level encryption (KMS), tokenized payload assembly, append-only audit log, RBAC with step-up MFA for sensitive actions, PII-free logging with a redaction layer, secrets manager, backups and restore tests.

- Integrations: Stripe (payments, webhooks), an e-signature vendor with identity verification, Google Drive, transactional email, WhatsApp Business API, Anthropic API for document extraction with human confirmation.

- Infrastructure as code on AWS (ECS Fargate or App Runner, RDS, S3, KMS, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch) or an agreed managed platform; CI with tests and security scans; staging and production environments; runbooks.

- You work against a mock CCH server built from our specification; production runs are performed by the firm. You will never hold production credentials or see client data.

- Collaboration: a full-stack engineer on the portal and staff console; an AI assistant that writes specifications and reviews every pull request before the owner sees it; a weekly 30-minute call with the owner.

- After the build: a retained maintenance agreement including on-call during the filing season.

REQUIREMENTS

- 5+ years building Python backends in production, 2+ years as the person responsible for a system's reliability.

- Deep Postgres: schema design, migrations, transactions, indexing, point-in-time recovery.

- Integrations with unreliable third-party APIs: retries, idempotency, partial failure, long-running jobs with polling.

- Security habits: least privilege, secrets management, no sensitive data in logs, dependency hygiene. You can explain how you would design a system where the people who build it never see the data it holds.

- Docker; one major cloud; infrastructure as code.

- Clear written English; you document decisions and write runbooks without being asked.

- At least four hours of daily overlap with Israel (UTC+2); availability December 2026 through June 2027 at 30-40 hours per week.

NICE TO HAVE

- Fintech, payments, accounting, insurance or health-data experience; SOC 2 or ISO 27001 exposure.

- LLM API experience (Anthropic/OpenAI SDKs, tool use, structured outputs) or MCP servers.

- Experience with XML-heavy enterprise APIs.

- Russian or Hebrew (the owner speaks both; not required).

ENGAGEMENT TERMS

- Independent contractor (B2B) via Deel, Payoneer or Upwork; NDA, IP assignment and the firm's confidentiality agreement signed before access to any repository.

- Phase 1: December 1, 2026 to April 30, 2027, 30-40 h/week; USD 3,500-6,000 per month (or USD 30-45/h) depending on seniority and hours.

- Phase 2: May 2027 onward, retained maintenance 10-20 h/week plus on-call in season, priced separately.

- Access: development and staging only; no production data, no production credentials; mock CCH server and synthetic data.

- Remote; Ukraine, Poland, Georgia, Armenia, Serbia, Kazakhstan and similar time zones preferred. Not available to contractors located in Russia.

PROCESS

1. Written application with three short answers: (a) one third-party API integration you built that had to survive locks, rate limits or inconsistent responses, and what you did about it; (b) how you keep secrets and personal data out of logs in a system you run; (c) your availability December 2026 to June 2027 and your overlap with UTC+2.

2. 30-minute call with the owner.

3. Paid trial task: 10-15 hours over one week, USD 500 paid regardless of outcome, on the mock server with synthetic data.

4. References, contract, onboarding. Target start: December 1, 2026.

Apply with a CV or LinkedIn profile, links to code or systems you are proud of, and the three answers. Applications without the answers are not reviewed.

About the Role

We're looking for a curious and motivated Junior Python Engineer to join our team. You'll be building backend services, REST APIs, and data-processing pipelines, with some exposure to cloud infrastructure along the way.

We work in pairs — juniors are always paired with someone at a similar or slightly higher level, not just for code reviews, but for day-to-day coding, architecture decisions, and problem solving. This is production work: you'll ship backend services that customers rely on, with the safety net of another teammate beside you.

The client is US-based, so the team works US business hours; for engineers in Ukraine, this means your working day ends around midnight Kyiv time. This role can be full-time or part-time, depending on your availability.

What You'll Work On

• Backend Services & APIs — build and maintain REST APIs and backend services for client platforms.
• Document Processing — build pipelines for validation, extraction, and status tracking.
• AWS Integrations — work with AWS infrastructure managed through Terraform.
• Internal Tooling — build workflow automation and internal tools.

Tech Stack

• Backend — Python (our main language), a web framework (most of our services run on one), SQL or a NoSQL store for reading and writing data.
• Cloud — AWS (Lambda, S3, IAM) and Terraform — both nice-to-haves, you'll pick up what you need on the job.

Working Hours & Format

This role can be full-time or part-time, depending on your availability. It's remote, with occasional face-to-face working sessions. Our client operates on US business hours, so the schedule needs to align with US time zones — for engineers based in Ukraine, your working day will end around midnight Kyiv time.

Requirements

Solid fundamentals in Python, familiarity with a web framework, and a basic understanding of REST APIs.

Exposure to AWS or Terraform is a plus, but not required — you'll pick up what you need on the job. We care more about your curiosity and attitude than your CV.

Python AI Product Engineer (FastAPI / LLM)

Location: Remote (Europe / Ukraine)
Employment: Full-time
Company: MTicket

About Us

MTicket is a technology company operating in the ticketing and live events industry. Our platforms support ticket sales, event management, payments, marketing, customer interactions, and various business operations.
We are actively developing our AI engineering direction to introduce intelligent automation and AI-powered functionality into our products and internal processes.
We're looking for a Senior Python AI Product Engineer who can turn ideas and business challenges into real, production-ready AI solutions.
This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys building products, experimenting with modern AI capabilities, and delivering working solutions.
We're not looking for someone who simply uses AI coding assistants. We need an engineer who has already built and launched AI-powered applications using LLM APIs.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and launch AI-powered applications and product features using Python and FastAPI.
• Integrate LLMs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar providers through APIs.
• Build intelligent assistants, AI agents, and automated workflows to solve real business problems.
• Develop backend services that connect AI capabilities with existing business systems.
• Implement LLM tool/function calling, structured outputs, and multi-step workflows.
• Integrate third-party APIs, databases, and internal services.
• Work on AI solutions for ticketing, customer support, marketing, analytics, and operational processes.
• Collaborate with other engineers to build scalable and reliable AI-powered functionality.
• Take ownership of features from technical design and implementation to deployment and production support.
• Continuously improve AI functionality, response quality, performance, and API usage costs.

Our Tech Stack

• Backend: Python, FastAPI
• AI: LLM API integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar)
• Architecture: REST APIs, backend services, third-party integrations
• Development: Git

Our approach is pragmatic: we choose technologies based on the problem we're solving rather than relying on a specific AI framework.

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional Python backend development experience.
• Solid commercial experience with FastAPI and backend API development.
• Proven experience building and launching AI-powered applications or product features in production.
• Hands-on experience integrating LLMs through APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or similar).
• Experience developing AI assistants, AI agents, intelligent automation, or multi-step LLM workflows.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, integrations, databases, and backend architecture.
• Experience implementing and maintaining production applications.
• Ability to independently design and deliver complete features.
• Understanding of AI application limitations, error handling, response validation, and API cost management.
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and a product-oriented mindset.
• Ukrainian or Russian language proficiency at C1 level or higher.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing AI-first SaaS products or commercial AI applications.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, or similar AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector databases, or MCP.
• Experience building AI workflows involving multiple tools or external services.
• Familiarity with LLM evaluation, prompt optimization, and structured output validation.
• Experience in e-commerce, marketplaces, payments, ticketing, or marketing automation.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, Docker, and asynchronous backend processing.
• Experience independently shipping products from idea to production.

What Makes a Great Candidate

We especially value engineers who have already built real AI applications and can confidently explain:

• What AI product or functionality they developed.
• What problem it solved and who used it.
• How LLM APIs were integrated into the application.
• What backend architecture and integrations they implemented.
• Which parts of the solution they personally owned.
• How they handled errors, unexpected AI responses, and production challenges.
• How the product was deployed and improved based on real-world usage.

We value practical engineering experience, independent thinking, and the ability to deliver useful products over knowledge of specific frameworks.

What We Offer

• The opportunity to build AI-powered products for an established ticketing and live events business.
• A growing AI engineering direction with significant room for innovation.
• Real business challenges where your work can have a measurable impact.
• Ownership of AI functionality from idea to production.
• Direct collaboration with engineering and business teams.
• Freedom to propose technical solutions and experiment with modern AI technologies.
• A fully remote working environment.
• A collaborative team and a practical, results-oriented engineering culture.

Interested?

If you've already built AI-powered products using Python and LLM APIs, enjoy solving real business problems, and want to see your solutions used in production, we'd love to hear from you.
When applying, please briefly describe an AI-powered product or feature you've personally built and launched. Feel free to share relevant GitHub repositories, product links, or examples of your work.
