Our team builds scalable, resilient applications using the powerful combination of Python/Django on the backend and ReactJS on the frontend — all to deliver an exceptional, seamless experience to our users.

We’re proudly tech-agnostic, meaning we’re open to candidates with a variety of technical backgrounds, whether that’s Java/Spring, Node.js/Express, Ruby on Rails, Scala/Play, PHP, or Golang. While Python is our main language, prior experience with it isn’t required. What matters most is your willingness to learn, your ability to adapt quickly, and your enthusiasm for using Python in product-focused development.

We implement A/B tests to prove the value of our initiatives and improve our product based on data and students' and tutors' feedback. As part of our commitment to ensuring high-quality products, we prioritize monitoring and metrics analysis to identify areas for optimization and ensure our services are performing at their best. 

At Preply, we release our product 50-60 times per day by leveraging top-notch CI/CD processes. As a fast-growing company we have diverse technical challenges (sometimes we even write about them on our Engineering Blog) that will allow you to develop your skills at scale. 

What you’ll be doing:

You will work in a cross-functional team alongside the Product Manager, Product Designer, UX Writers, Data Analytics, Technical Leads, Engineers and other cross-functional team members to deliver engaging features through A/B tests and build top-notch products, including, but not limited to:

• Develop and own backend features using Python/Django, supporting the creation of new backend services as well as design, create, and/or troubleshoot integrations with third-party vendors.
• Think beyond the code and about our customers, understand their needs, and define solutions with the team;
• Balance short-term speed of development with the long-term technical quality of our systems;

• As a Senior Engineer, you will leverage your experience to guide the team in making informed technical decisions, such as continuous improvement of best practices (test culture, code reviews, monitoring and scalability of our tools). 

   

What you need to succeed:

• Exposure to architectural patterns of a large, high-scale web application (e.g., well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, efficient algorithms);
• Familiar and willing to support small JS/TS tasks when needed;
• Expertise in troubleshooting issues, identifying the root cause, mitigating it, and setting up safeguards to prevent future issues;
• High level of self-organization, ownership, and responsibility;
• A great collaborator with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Minimum B2 English level;

• Willingness to be on-call for your squad (1 week every 5 weeks).

Project Description

Development of a portable, high-fidelity audio device integrated with AI assistant capabilities. The project focuses on creating a high-performance consumer electronics product with a focus on quality sound and battery efficiency.

What will you do

• Developing circuitry solutions and PCBs for battery-powered wearable device;
• Developing schematic diagrams according to technical specifications and routing 4+ layer boards accordingly;
• Writing technical documentation for the developed devices (documentation for manufacturing, assembly, testing, manuals, etc.);
• Providing technical consultation during the testing phase and introduction to production;
• Providing technical support during the mass production phase (in case issues are identified);
• Designing PCBs to fit within ready-made enclosures;
• Selecting optimal components during PCB development;
• Adhering to standards and regulations during the design process;
• English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2). Ability to conduct technical discussions, participate in meetings, and write professional documentation/emails for international clients.

What You Need For This Position

• Degree in a relevant technical field;
• Experience with and confident proficiency in Altium;
• Understanding of and experience with electronics - calculating and simulating circuits (analog and digital);
• Experience in routing 4-6 layer printed circuit boards (PCBs) and bringing them to mass production;
• Experience with "dense/miniature" designs (e.g., smartwatches, wearables, SoM carriers);
• Experience designing and routing rigid-flex printed circuit boards (PCBs);
• Experience working with RF (radio frequency) circuits and high-frequency signals;
• Experience designing devices with consideration for certification requirements (LVD, EMC);
• Experience in preparing documentation for PCB manufacturing and assembly;
  English Proficiency: Upper-Intermediate (B2). Ability to conduct technical discussions, participate in meetings, and write professional documentation/emails for international clients.

We are looking for a People Partner. In the role of People Partner at Liven, you’ll be shaping our culture, supporting team growth, and contributing to building a product that truly transforms people’s lives.
 

🎯 How Will You Make An Impact?

— Close collaboration and coaching of team leaders: supporting the development of people management skills, guiding them through complex people situations, fostering a continuous feedback culture;
— Building a system for employee development, retention, and succession planning;
— Contributing to the optimization and improvement of the company’s organizational structure to support scaling and increase cross-team efficiency;
— Supporting and scaling all employee lifecycle processes in line with the growth of Product & Engineering teams (onboarding, performance review, career development, etc.);

🧩 What Makes You a Perfect Fit?

— 3+ years of experience as a People/Talent Partner or HR Specialist (preferably with product or technical teams);
— Strong understanding of employee lifecycle processes and hands-on experience scaling them;
— Experience working with various HRMS systems (HiBob, PeopleForce, etc.);

We are looking for a talented Fullstack Javascript Developer to join our Development Team. You will be at the core of our talented Web Apps teams and focus on building the most advanced and meaningful apps and workflows on the latest web technologies.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

As a fullstack developer, you will work on our next generation applications, a specific project critical to our customer’s needs. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new challenges as we continue to push technology forward.

What you’ll do:

- Develop cloud based frontend and backend web applications

- Work in all phases of the software development life-cycle (planning, design, implementation, deployment, monitoring and support)

- Collaborate and grow in a dynamic environment while working in small, agile and cross functional teams

- Use the latest technologies to solve real problems for our customers

- Communicate and coordinate with our engineering team in Ukraine.

What we look for in you:

- Results-orientation, collaborative, pragmatic and agile mindset

We are looking for these skills/experience:

* Experience with React hooks, CSS-in-JS, Redux, Jest, Next.js

* Understanding of React components, rendering and optimisation principles

* Experience with web performance optimizations

* Deep knowledge of NestJS

* Familiarity with ORM (Object Relational Mapper) libraries - TypeORM

* Proficiency in unit and e2e testing, Jest, react-testing-library

* Strong knowledge of relational (PostgreSQL) and non-relational (MongoDB) databases

* Experience working with Docker and Docker Compose

* Understanding of common development principles and best practices (SOLID, DRY, YAGNI) and design patterns

* Experience in CI/CD processes is a plus

WHY THIS ROLE EXISTS
 

There is a difference between a developer who leads and a leader who develops. This role requires both, but in the right proportion. We need someone who can look at a codebase built by one person under pressure, understand it without judging it, and chart a clear path forward that the whole team can execute.
 

The engagement is a 12-plus month build of a custom internal platform for a US-based IT services company. The platform replaces a third-party PSA system and consolidates billing, ticketing, project management, and service delivery into one product. The company built the foundation themselves because they want a competitive advantage, not a vendor dependency. The existing developer is capable. What the team is missing is someone who can structure the work, raise the quality bar, and translate technical decisions into language that business stakeholders can act on.

We are in the pre-sale stage. The pilot is active. We are building a shortlist now so we are ready to move the moment the engagement confirms.
 

WHAT YOU WILL OWN
 

• Conducting an honest, constructive assessment of the existing codebase and identifying what needs to change and in what order
• Defining the technical roadmap for 2026 and presenting it to business stakeholders in terms of tradeoffs, not just tasks
• Making and documenting architecture decisions that the team can build on with confidence
• Leading a small team of two to three developers, including an existing in-house developer who has been working alone for 18 months
• Mentoring without micromanaging: setting standards, reviewing work, and creating an environment where the team improves over time
• Conducting or co-conducting technical interviews for developers joining the team
• Serving as the technical voice in client calls, translating engineering realities into business impact without oversimplifying or alarming
• Ensuring delivery stays on track against a hard deadline: the platform needs to be fully operational by January 2027
   

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
 

• 6 or more years in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a lead, principal, or equivalent role
• A track record of taking ambiguous or under-structured codebases and creating order without creating conflict
• Genuine experience communicating technical decisions to non-technical stakeholders who are engaged, opinionated, and smart
• Comfort with serverless and edge computing architectures (Cloudflare Workers, AWS Lambda, or similar)
• The ability to work fractionally and manage your own time and availability without being managed
• Availability to lead client calls in the US CT window
• A principled approach to code quality: you set standards because you believe in them, not because someone asked you to

• 4+ years of experience shipping production applications with React and Node.js
• Real ownership of features across the full stack, not just comfort on one side
• Experience with PostgreSQL or a comparable relational database in production
• The discipline to write maintainable code even when the deadline feels close
• Clear, direct communication in a distributed team context
• Availability to overlap with US CT for team calls (approximately 12:00 to 14:00 СТ time)

No Supabase or Cloudflare Workers experience required. If you have worked with Firebase, AWS Lambda, or any serverless Node.js environment, you will find your footing quickly. 
 

HOW WE WORK
 

The team is distributed. The client is based in Dallas, Texas. 

Expect one or two overlap calls per week in the 12:00 to 14:00 CT time window. The rest of your day is yours to structure. We trust people to manage their own time, because we hire people who have earned that trust.

The Tech Lead owns architecture direction and stakeholder communication. Your focus is delivery. The two roles are designed to complement each other without competing.

Project overview

The project focuses on building a governed conversational BI solution on Databricks using Genie. It includes designing scalable data architecture, implementing strong data governance with Unity Catalog, and enabling reliable SQL and AI-driven data consumption through well-defined semantic models.

Responsibilities

• Define and oversee the governed conversational BI architecture on Databricks using Genie
• Ensure governance from day zero, including compliance with Unity Catalog policies for all data assets
• Implement RBAC, row-level security (RLS), lineage, and audit logging
• Design and validate the Medallion architecture (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers)
• Define CI/CD processes in Azure Pipelines for semantic model management
• Oversee the setup of two Genie Spaces and ensure guardrail responses for out-of-scope questions
• Drive quality gates, benchmark cycles, and SME validation processes
• Build and maintain semantic models and knowledge structures
• Define data models for SQL and AI consumption

Requirements

• Experience with Databricks (on Azure), including Lakeflow pipelines
• Strong knowledge of Unity Catalog, including data governance, RBAC, and lineage
• Experience working with Genie (Databricks AI-powered analytics interface)
• Experience with CI/CD processes using Azure Pipelines for semantic model version control
• Strong SQL experience, including SQL Warehouse, Delta Lake, and Gold schema management
• Knowledge of PII masking, encryption, and audit/compliance frameworks
