We're looking for an experienced Go Backend Developer to build a server-side slot game engine from scratch on a Go-based GDK. This is a 3-month freelance project with full ownership of the engine — from math model to RGS integration and certification readiness.

You'll be the game-logic authority on the project, working closely with a Game Designer, Mathematician, and Frontend Developer.

What you'll be doing

• Building the slot engine end-to-end: lifecycle interfaces (spin generation, keep-generate, history replay), win evaluation, and RGS integration contract
• Owning the game mathematics: RTP structure, reel strips, paylines / clusters / Megaways / avalanche, and probabilistic outcome modelling

This is a hands-on senior backend role for someone who uses AI to ship fast and cares about the product, not just the code.

This is not a traditional coding role. 
You'll use Claude Code and other AI tools to multiply your output, always thinking about how the feature you're building helps the user. 
We have no QA team, so you own the quality of what you ship: everything you deliver has to work.

About the project

We're preparing to rebuild an inherited Go microservices codebase for an insurtech client (US market). The code was written by a previous team and handed over "as is." Before we commit to refactoring or rewriting, we need an independent technical audit from an experienced Go developer. Your report will drive the per-service decision: accept as-is, refactor, or rewrite.

Scope

Audit ~11 Go repositories (microservices + shared SDK/utils modules) across four dimensions:

1. Security — vulnerabilities, hardcoded secrets, dependencies with known CVEs, service-to-service auth.
2. Code quality — architecture, technical debt, error handling, test coverage, idiomatic Go.
3. Performance — goroutine/resource leaks, DB usage (N+1, pooling, timeouts, transactions), context handling.
4. Readiness for handover — how maintainable the code is for a new team (docs, CI/CD, migrations, bus factor).

Stack: Go 1.17 and 1.20 (both EOL — upgrade will be a separate recommendation), gRPC, Kong API Gateway, protobuf contracts, a dedicated secrets service, microservices architecture.

Toolchain: go vet, staticcheck, golangci-lint, gosec, govulncheck, osv-scanner, go test -cover -race — automated pass plus manual review of security-critical paths and architecture.

Deliverables

1. Audit report (markdown) — findings by severity (Critical/High/Medium/Low/Info), each with repo, file:line, impact, recommendation.
2. Readiness matrix per service (security / quality / tests / performance / readiness).
3. Executive summary — top risks and a strategy recommendation (accept / refactor / rewrite) per service.

About the Project

The team is building an internal accounting operations platform. The current top priority is completing AP Automation (Accounts Payable Automation) – an end-to-end automation of the entire incoming invoice lifecycle, from receipt to payment, with minimal manual input from the accounting team. The workflow involves OCR, accounting rules, automation, and human review flows.

The Business Platform Experience (BPX) team builds the B2B ecosystem that real estate agencies and agents use every day. We provide the tools that help them create, manage, and promote listings. Requirements 

• 4+ years of experience with proven experience across Go  (React/React Native experience would be a plus);

Technical Skills 

• Strong hands-on experience with Go (Golang) for backend service development;

• Strong understanding of concurrency patterns in Go (goroutines, channels);

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using Go (Golang);

About the Role

We are looking for a Lead AI-First Backend Engineer to join a product team building an AI-powered tourism platform.

This is not a traditional backend role. We don’t need someone who just writes code — we need an engineer who builds features end-to-end using AI tools, takes ownership of delivery, and ensures what gets shipped actually works.

You will use Claude Code and other agentic AI tools to significantly accelerate development while maintaining high standards of architecture, performance, and product quality.

Key Requirements (Must-Have)

• 5+ years of experience with Golang (exceptional 4+ years considered)
