About us

We’re Smart Factory — a product company building software for the manufacturing industry. Our product is gaining real traction, and we’re now opening up the German-speaking market (DACH): Germany, Austria, Switzerland). We’re looking for the person who’ll help us win it.

The role

This is a hands-on outbound sales role, and the heart of it is talking to people. In the Netherlands, one focused salesperson driving cold and semi-cold calling has been remarkably effective for us — and we want to repeat that in the German market.

You’ll:

• Open new business across DACH through cold and semi-cold calling — this is the core of the role
• Build relationships on LinkedIn: real, personal outreach (supported by light automation), with a soft-selling approach
• Give Smart Factory product demos in German (or grow into it)
• Help us make the most of our presence at a major industry trade show this September
• Own the top of the funnel — from first hello to a qualified conversation
• What we’re looking for
• Fluent or native German — this is essential. You’ll be calling, writing to, and presenting to German-speaking prospects every day.
• Proven experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or business development
• You’re comfortable — and effective — on the phone. Cold and semi-cold calling doesn’t scare you; you’re good at it.
• Solid English — our internal team works and communicates in English
• Self-driven, organized, and resilient — you can run your own pipeline without being chased

Description:
 

• 6+ years building server-side applications in JavaScript/TypeScript using Node.js frameworks such as NestJS or Express 

(50-50% backend/frontend depending on the project, but strong orientation toward backend experience)

• 4+ years building user-facing features with React, including component-driven development and front-end architecture
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or similar), including schema design and performance considerations
• Feature ownership experience: independently driving projects from early design through delivery, rollout, and post-launch improvements - proactive, strong communicator
• Fluency in English and experience working in a remote setting
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, service boundaries, and integration patterns in a microservices environment
• Experience with state management (Zustand preferred) and building maintainable, testable UI flows
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and workflows effectively, with the ability to critically evaluate outputs
• Events infrastructure background: hands-on experience with event-driven systems and messaging (for example, Kinesis, SQS, SNS, EventBridge, Kafka), including reliability patterns like retries, dead-lettering, ordering considerations, and idempotency - major plus

About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Platform Software Engineer (React, Node.js & Azure) to join our team and help build a scalable enterprise platform. You'll work across the full technology stack, developing modern web applications, backend services, cloud solutions, and enterprise integrations while contributing to the platform's long-term technical vision.

Requirements

• Strong expertise in React and modern JavaScript, with 7+ years building modern web applications.
• Solid commercial experience with Node.js.
• Experience with C#/.NET is a plus, especially in the context of Microsoft 365 / Azure integrations.
• Hands-on experience building solutions on Microsoft Azure.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL, database design, and query optimization.
• Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, Azure AD, and MSAL.
• Experience integrating Azure AI, OpenAI, or other AI technologies.

Nice to Have

• Experience developing applications for Microsoft Teams, including familiarity with Microsoft Graph API.
• Experience with Azure App Service.
• Knowledge of Tailwind CSS.
• Experience with GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipelines.
• Background in enterprise SaaS products or platform integrations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop modern web applications using React and JavaScript.
• Build secure and scalable backend services with Node.js.
