As a Frontend Product Owner, you become the single entry point for frontend requests across brands and projects. You validate incoming initiatives, coordinate estimation, shape a realistic quarterly plan with frontend tech leads and delivery managers, and own the day-to-day product communication — from Jira hygiene and Change Requests to release chats and cross-team escalations.

You work at the intersection of product, technology, and delivery — protecting frontend teams from chaos, ensuring sustainable execution, and turning brand-level requests into a coherent frontend agenda.

What you’ll be doing

• Own and maintain a prioritized, transparent, and outcome-oriented frontend product backlog across supported brands and projects, acting as the single point of entry for all frontend initiatives;
• Translate product vision and brand-level goals into well-defined tasks with clear acceptance criteria, DoR, and DoD — and ensure all task-related agreements are documented in Jira comments as the single source of truth;

Description

We are building an AI powered document search assistant for a large enterprise client in Japan. Project design documentation accumulated over roughly twenty years currently sits on an isolated file server with no search capability at all, which forces engineers to rely on subject matter experts to locate specifications manually. The solution migrates this content into SharePoint within the client internal network and delivers natural language search across it. Roughly half of the corpus is in legacy Excel format where critical information lives inside shapes, callouts and embedded screenshots rather than in cells, so the pipeline combines format conversion, drawing layer parsing and OCR before indexing. The architecture is built on Azure (Python-based processing, Azure AI Search, Azure AI Document Intelligence) with Google Cloud considered as an alternative track. The current stage is a Proof of Concept focused on two highest-risk areas, unstructured data extraction and incremental index updates, with production rollout to follow.

Requirements

• Possessing 4+ years of dedicated professional experience in quality assurance and automation engineering, demonstrating a strong track record of successful project contributions.

About the Project

The project is a product in the regulated medical software and medical devices domain, where quality, reliability and compliance are critical. We are looking for a QA Engineer who combines manual and automated testing and uses Python on a daily basis, to help ensure the product meets its quality and compliance goals throughout the development life cycle. Job summary: 

We're looking for a QA Engineer to take ownership of day-to-day testing across our apps and website: iPad, Android tablets and phones, Windows, macOS and web.

This is not a checklist-execution role. We don't want the same 200 manual checks repeated every release. We're looking for someone who can identify what is genuinely high-risk, prioritise testing accordingly, and use AI and automation to reduce repetitive manual work.

We value judgment, curiosity, initiative and speed more than years of experience. If you have one or two years of QA experience—or you're moving into QA from a related technical role, learn quickly, and already use AI in your workflow—we'd like to hear from you.

We are open to full-time candidates, freelancers, and specialized QA agencies that can provide a dedicated tester matching the requirements below.

What you will do:

• Test new releases across iPad, Android, Windows, macOS and web, from the perspective of a real musician using the app, not a script.
• Perform functional, regression, operational and end-to-end workflow testing across all supported platforms.
• Write new test cases and keep the test suite honest: add what's missing, retire what stopped earning its place.
• Decide what to test first based on what would actually hurt if it broke. Trial sign-up, subscription, purchase and account access come before everything else, every release.
• Use AI tools (Claude, Copilot or similar) to generate test cases, write and maintain automation scripts, and cut down repetitive manual work.
• Build up automated smoke and regression coverage for the critical paths, so every release gets checked the same way without a human repeating themselves.
• Turn around bug-fix and release-candidate retesting quickly, prioritising release-critical issues.
• Write bug reports a developer can act on immediately: clear steps, right platform, right build, actual vs expected.

• Flag risk early when a timeline threatens coverage, rather than quietly hoping.

   

What we require from you: 

You're a musician. You play at least one instrument, you read notation, and you have a working grasp of music theory. You don't need to be a professional or a conservatory graduate, but you should be comfortable reading a score and not thrown by things like MIDI, transposition, time signatures or the difference between a part and a full score. A classical background is a plus. If you already use Tomplay, tell us what you play on it.

You actively use AI in your QA workflow. You already use tools such as Claude, Copilot or similar AI assistants as part of your working process—not just experimentally—and can explain a real QA or automation workflow you've built with them.

You're comfortable across platforms. You don't need experience on all five of iPad, Android, Windows, macOS and web, but you need access to at least a computer and a tablet, and the appetite to get up to speed on the rest quickly.

You're technically curious. Comfortable in browser dev tools, able to read a log file, and able to make a reasonable guess at whether a bug is front-end, back-end or environment before handing it over.

You want to get good at this. You're organised, autonomous, analytical, and you'd rather learn a better way of testing than defend the way you were taught.

You write and speak fluent English.

Any of the following would be a plus: 

• Any hands-on test automation, with any framework (Playwright, Cypress, Appium, Selenium or similar).
• AI orchestration for QA. Experience using Claude Code or similar agentic AI tools to execute tests, inspect results, identify failures and iterate—not only to generate scripts that are then run manually. Experience from side projects or experiments is also valuable.
• Experience testing subscription, paywall or free-trial flows.

• Experience with music, education or consumer subscription apps.

   

Practical details: 

• Fully remote, with flexible working hours. We are open to full-time candidates, freelancers and specialized QA agencies. The exact working arrangement will be discussed during the interview.
• Start date: flexible.
• Open to growing opportunities. The scope of this role can expand with the person in it.

• Part of the process is a short trial task: a real build, around two hours of your time, and a conversation about what you chose to test first and why. It is unpaid and we keep it deliberately short. Anything you find is yours to talk about, we are not asking you to do free work at scale.
