- Feed generation, distribution, and the recommendation engine across posts, reels, stories, comments, and reactions: fan-out-on-write vs fan-out-on-read tradeoffs per content type, candidate generation, ranking pipeline (recency, affinity, engagement signals, content-type mixing), cold start, low-latency serving under heavy read load.

The stack

What we're looking for

- Strong system design instincts. You can read a BRD, sketch the service boundaries, choose the right storage for each access pattern, and explain the tradeoffs. We care about this more than any specific framework.
- No tool tribalism. You pick the simplest thing that solves the problem. You don't reach for Kafka when Redis pub/sub does the job, and you don't reach for Postgres when the workload is append-only events.
- Production Go experience building backend services that are actually live somewhere, and comfort with concurrency primitives.
- Hands-on with at least most of: PostgreSQL, Redis, a wide-column store (Cassandra/Scylla/DynamoDB), an API gateway, containerized deployments on Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry-style observability.
- Independent operator. You don't wait to be told what to do next. You read the spec, identify the unknowns, ask the right questions early, and ship.

Project Description:

The client is one of the leading automotive OEMs in the United States. The project aims to expand the client's development team and support the implementation of the HMI and Middleware components for a next-generation automotive platform, specifically tailored for high-performance and racing features.
The scope includes close collaboration with the client's engineering teams to deliver high-quality, reliable, and performance-optimized software solutions that meet the demanding requirements of racing environments.

Responsibilities:

• Code, debug, document, and maintain portions of software.
• Perform unit and integration testing.
• Participate in peer code and design reviews.
• Participate in estimation and planning sessions.
• Contribute to development of technical project documentation and user documentation.
• Provide assistance to test engineers and support personnel in solving technical issues of software installation and its operation.
• Participate in conference calls and face-to-face meetings with the Customer and Customer partners.
• Comply with the best engineering practices, the technical standards and the quality criteria set forth on the project.
• Report status and progress according to the project rules.
• Spot current deficiencies in the development process, adopted procedures and engineering practices, environment configurations, etc., and suggest improvements.
• Escalate technical issues to Tech Lead and Product Owner.
• Improve your qualification within the areas of expertise at various training courses, seminars and/or other educational organizations

Mandatory Skills Description:

POSIX (C++/C++17) skills
Unreal Engine 4.0 or never
Experience in embedded systems
SOME/IP is a messaging bus (a bit like MQTT.)
CommonAPI C++ is an implementation of a networking protocol that can generate serialization and communication code.

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

Franca is a language for defining service interfaces (a bit like the proto2/proto3 syntax of Protocol Buffers but with more focus on RPC.)
Experience with open-source-software, scripting, CMake and Make is a strong plus

About the Role: 

This is a hands-on leadership role for a Backend Team Lead who will guide a team of backend engineers while remaining actively involved in coding, architecture, and delivery. You will work on core backend systems of a modern cybersecurity platform, building and scaling high-load services that process large volumes of security and telemetry data in real time.

These systems are responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing data from multiple sources, including endpoints, cloud environments, and third-party integrations. They support key product capabilities such as threat detection, security analytics, anomaly identification, and automated response workflows, making this a mission-critical role at the heart of the product.

This role offers the opportunity to combine leadership with deep technical involvement, influence system architecture, shape engineering practices, and build scalable backend solutions within a fast-growing, globally distributed product organization

Key Responsibilities: 

• Lead a team of highly skilled and passionate developers
• Partner with the Product Manager to build the road-map for the team
• Understand the team objectives and key results and make sure that the team are on the path to achieving them
• Participate in making decisions on the architecture and technologies
• Conduct the team ceremonies: Daily stand-ups, sprint planning and retro meetings
• Help create and enforce strong engineering standards, code quality, and best Engineering practices
• Take an active part in the implementation (hands-on) of the team's various services and features

• Help your team members grow by mentoring them, building their growth plan with them and enable them opportunities to implement it

   

Required Competence and Skills:

• 6+ years of backend/server-side development with Java
• 2+ years of proven experience leading an engineering team 
• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Framework and MongoDB
• Deep understanding of multithreading and concurrency
• Solid knowledge of OOP concepts and design patterns
• Proven experience with microservices architecture
• Experience working with high-load backend systems
• Proficiency in cloud-native environments (preferably AWS)

Nice to have:

• Experience with Redis and RabbitMQ
• Experience with Elasticsearch/OpenSearch 
• Familiarity with Docker / Kubernetes
• Experience in Cybersecurity domain
