About the Role:
This senior position sits in the core infrastructure team responsible for the mission-critical search and transaction services at the heart of the platform.
You will take full lifecycle ownership of key microservices, from initial design and implementation through deployment, monitoring, and ongoing optimization.
Working in bi-weekly sprints, you will collaborate with product managers, architects, and DevOps to deliver new features, troubleshoot production incidents, and drive system performance improvements.
In this role you will shape service contracts, maintain event-driven workflows, integrate external APIs, enforce coding standards, and expand automated test coverage.
You will mentor peers, influence technical direction, and directly impact the reliability and scalability of a high-volume platform.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable APIs and microservices that support high-volume search and booking workflows.
- Integrate, normalize, and process data from multiple external services into flexible downstream interfaces.
- Optimize service performance and maintain low-latency responses under heavy concurrency and global traffic.
- Build and maintain automated unit and integration tests, ensuring code quality and preventing regressions.
- Troubleshoot production issues, collaborating with DevOps on deployments, monitoring, and incident response.
- Participate in architecture and design reviews to drive resilience, scalability, and service decomposition.
- Own one or more services as the designated system owner, ensuring uptime, observability, and comprehensive documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
Required Competence and Skills:
- At least 5 years of professional backend development experience.
- Proven track record designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and Node.js (e.g., Express or equivalent frameworks).
- Deep understanding of asynchronous programming, event-driven patterns, and related pitfalls.
- Solid grasp of fundamental design principles for distributed, high-scale applications.
- Experience with data stores such as Redis, MongoDB, MySQL, or similar technologies.
- Familiarity with queuing solutions like RabbitMQ, SQS, Gearman, or equivalents.

In this role, you will focus on internal IT requests from our colleagues, participating in various IT projects in collaboration with other teams across global locations as we scale.

What you will do
- Own and administer the companyβs Identity Provider (IdP), including SSO, MFA, access policies, and identity lifecycle management
- Design, configure, and maintain SAML and SCIM integrations with internal and third-party applications
- Maintain and optimize integrations between Google Workspace, HR system, and the Identity Provider to automate joiner, mover, and leaver processes
- Administer cloud services with a focus on access governance, security, licensing, and automation
- Monitor system health, diagnose complex cross-platform issues, and lead resolution of identity- and access-related incidents
- Lead and execute system migrations between cloud, on-premises, and SaaS platforms
- Support Service Desk colleagues in handling complex escalations and providing guidance on advanced technical issues
- Contribute to regular ticket resolution when required, particularly for high-impact or complex cases, ensuring service continuity
- Collaborate closely with the Information Security team on access controls, security reviews, and audit-related activities

What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in Systems Administration, Identity & Access Management, or L3 internal IT support
- Strong hands-on experience with Identity Providers (IdP), preferably Okta
- Proven experience configuring and maintaining SAML and SCIM integrations
- Experience integrating Google Workspace and HR systems with Identity Providers to automate user lifecycle management
- Strong experience with MDM and endpoint management tools (e.g. JumpCloud), including device enrollment, policy management, and compliance enforcement
- Solid understanding of cloud services administration, including access control, security, and licensing
- Advanced troubleshooting skills across identity, SaaS platforms, and operating systems
- Experience working with Windows and macOS in an enterprise environment
- Knowledge of IT Service Management tools and structured operational processes
