How You Will Make An Impact:
As a Senior Engineer, Infrastructure, you will design, build, and evolve the core infrastructure that powers ThredUP, with a particular focus on the reliability, performance, and operability of our database estate. • Plan and execute zero-downtime schema changes with safe rollback paths (online DDL, gh-ost / pt-online-schema-change, pg_repack, logical replication, trigger-based backfills).
• Partner with application teams to remove N+1 queries, tune indexes, and rewrite inefficient predicates; design partitioning and retention for high-write tables.
• Design, execute, and regularly validate backup and disaster-recovery procedures.

Ownership

• Act as an expert in infrastructure design, performance, and operations across multiple systems and services.
• Promote shared ownership of infrastructure by driving documentation, tooling, and process improvements.
• Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring reliability while protecting teams from burnout.

Leadership & Collaboration

About the role

You'll join a small, self-contained squad building analytics products with and for some of the world's largest consumer brands.
These products are greenfield builds with real users on the other side from day one. The brand partner sees what you ship, and the feedback loop is short, sometimes uncomfortably so.  That's the appeal of the role, and it's also the bar.
 

Responsibilities:

• Build and ship features on a new product, from the ground up
• Own your work end to end: UI, API, data model, tests, deployment, and whatever breaks at 6pm on a Thursday.
• Work directly with the project manager to turn a partner's vague ideas into a smooth user experience
• Pull, blend, and model data from multiple sources - our own social listening pipeline plus partner-supplied datasets that will never arrive in the shape you'd like.
• Contribute to technical decisions and help shape the product’s overall architecture.
• Keep an eye on performance, scalability, and maintainability as the product grows.

What we're looking for

Someone who is a strong engineer and, above all, a good teammate: shares their thinking early, communicates clearly, brings ideas, listens properly, and can hold a different view without making it a fight.
You care about the product, not just the ticket. You're curious about how people actually use what you build. You're comfortable making a decision with incomplete information, asking the question nobody's asking, and taking something on without waiting to be assigned it.
 

Must-haves:

• Experience 4+ years working in product-focused teams (especially SaaS)
• Node.js, C#, or Python as backend language.
• Solid frontend skills - you can build a clean, responsive interface yourself, not just wire up an API for someone else. Experience with data visualization is a real plus.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale data systems
• You take strong ownership of your tasks.
• Curiosity about UX and product design — not just how it works, but how it feels to users.
• Comfort with making architectural decisions and trade-offs.

Why This Role Exists

We're scaling fast, and our paid channels have to scale with us. This role owns that: the campaigns that bring students in the door, the budget behind them, and the numbers that prove it worked.

This is a full-time role.

What You Will Do

• Run the campaigns. Build, launch, and optimize Meta Ads conversion campaigns.. You decide the audience splits, the budget shifts, the creative rotation.
• Own the numbers, not just report them. Track TA vs. non-TA lead quality, keep CPL inside KPI, and flag anomalies before they become a wasted week of spend.
• Do the QA nobody sees. Audiences, exclusions, placements, attribution windows, budgets, naming conventions — the boring checks that are the actual difference between a clean account and a leaking one.
• Test constantly. Turn a hunch into an A/B test, read the result, log what you learned, kill what doesn't work.
• Work the room. Sit with producers, copywriters, and designers and give them feedback that's grounded in data, not vibes.

Requirements

• B2 English or higher
• At least 1 year hands-on with conversion campaigns / performance marketing / user acquisition, ideally in an in-house or agency setting 
• Confident running Meta Ads Manager solo
• Fluent in CPM, CTR, CPC, CPL, CAC, ROAS/ROI, LTV
• Hands-on AI experience (pet project, past role, side experiment)
• Comfortable proposing an unconventional idea, testing it, and owning the result either way
