Backend Developer (Node.js, AI, Crypto, Blockchain)

We’re looking for an AI-forward Backend Developer to help build a platform focused on international payments, crypto infrastructure, and blockchain integrations.

The platform integrates external payment and financial service providers such as Bridge, works with crypto and stablecoin-related services, and supports on-chain interactions. The backend is primarily API-driven, connecting external systems, processing transactions and events, and storing application data in MongoDB.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, and Express.js.
• Design and implement REST APIs and integrations with third-party services.
• Integrate payment infrastructure providers such as Bridge and similar fintech or crypto platforms.
• Build backend workflows for international payments, stablecoins, and crypto-related operations.
• Work with blockchain APIs, on-chain transactions, and transaction status monitoring.
• Design and maintain MongoDB schemas, data models, and persistence logic.
• Implement webhooks, background jobs, asynchronous workflows, and reliable error handling.
• Ensure data consistency and reliability when processing payment and blockchain events.
• Deploy, maintain, and monitor backend applications and services on AWS.
• Apply security best practices when handling sensitive financial data and transaction workflows.
• Use Claude and other AI-powered development tools in daily engineering tasks.
• Collaborate with the team on architecture, implementation, and technical improvements.

Requirements

• Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript.
• Practical experience building backend services with Express.js.
• Experience with MongoDB and database design.
• Proven experience integrating third-party APIs into production applications.
• Good understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, authentication, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience deploying and maintaining applications on AWS.
• Understanding of crypto, blockchain fundamentals, and on-chain transactions.
• Familiarity with financial transaction workflows, error handling, and data consistency.
• Hands-on experience with Claude or similar AI coding tools.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex integrations, and take ownership of backend features.

Nice to Have

• Experience with fintech, international payments, or cross-border payment systems.
• Previous experience integrating Bridge or similar payment and crypto infrastructure providers.
• Knowledge of stablecoins, crypto wallets, blockchain APIs, and transaction signing.
• Familiarity with Ethereum and EVM-compatible networks.
• Experience with smart contracts, blockchain event indexing, or transaction monitoring.
• Familiarity with AWS services, queues, background workers, and distributed systems.
• Experience building developer platforms, public APIs, or SDKs.
• Basic familiarity with React or Next.js to support full-stack collaboration when needed.
